Finally got trade scammed after 1000+ trades

the scumbags in this game take special pride in scamming people and call it a "free market" , they are basically mister burns from simpsons without the actual cunning and nuclear plant of their own.
i remember one scam was very hot where you´d swap voidheart to pre-prophecy version. when i was 13 playing d2 in a netcafe i did my fair share of stupid scams , corpseexplosions - sold another kid a socketed wirts leg with amethysts in it telling him it opens super cow portal for multiple +1 lightning charms. or people swapping out windforce to regular hydrabow "move it around so i know its not a jpg" etc. i grew out of it and am not proud of haveing ever scammed people , but some dont - they even THINK that if you dont scam people , you are too stupid to do so and that they´re some sort of intellectual capable of incredible feats. basically bottom of the barrel trashbags. you add them to ignorelist and move on. |

Nobody ever successfully scammed me in D2. Swapping SOJs for non-SOJs was a common one. Someone tried to screw me on an Enigma one time, caught it. They wanted to trade an Enigma for an SOJ, even. And the Enigma was worth a little more.

I keep getting whispered for a stack of 20 fuse for 0.5 chaos. " I'll take 40 please" they have the nerve to ask. They must be disappointed when I say no, that's the price per fuse and I think you know that.
People are disgusting and pathetic. |

In a way the trade is set up, it is only YOUR fault for getting scammed. Anything above 10c I hover over the item and check is it the thing I wanted to buy... U maybe lose 2 seconds more but u won't get bamboozled.

I'm surprised how rarely people actually try to scam me in this game. Out of thousands of trades it only happened a couple of times. The latest being a guy putting up 10c instead of 10ex.

No clue how you claim this game has a better community than D2, you musta played on west coast servers. As for the devs being better well no just no, game being better is subjective (always had a blast in LLD and MLD in D2 whereas the pvp here is atrocious).
Let's be real here, these "scams" are basic af so if anyone falls for them then that says a lot about that person. Currently being stalked around these forums by some clowns who caught feelings over being called out at being grossly inept at their job.

Ive been pushing for the idea of AFK trading, having player shop stalls with set prices to browse via index system (that already exists) or by visiting hideout to browse.
I dont think this idea will be implemented, but I would ask you to stop over in this thread and express your opinions on trade there too! https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1988257 As a player I generally dont use POE trade, and make builds from that conviction. Not making any kind of loud statement there, but I stick to my own guns kinda thing. I did all this playing Diablo2. Admittedly if feels safer, but I am still going through the same motions as I did back then, less shade involved is all :/ |
