I think I just realized I'm done with PoE!?
I guess it's just normal to get bored with a game, most leagues I only play poe enough to make one fully fledged character per league and don't play std anymore, although I started there and played a lot ! At the time I had a guild, that can help a lot keeping your attention on a game, but solo, well like any game that makes things get repetitive fast.
It's natural, doesn't mean poe's a bad game, and doesn't mean I can't get anything out of playing the next league, I'm no pro, i've never killed atziri in 5 years of play x) (noob) should go ok this time around though. My point is, OP, anything you haven't achieved and would like to ? or tried to achieve ? I feel that can be a fun mindset to start a league with |

Everytime I think I'm done with PoE for a while I come back a couple days later to put another couple thousand hours in. This game has your soul, forever.

i like to fire up ROMS of childhood games on the sega , snes , nintendo3ds - platformers , doom1-2 / wolfenstein3d quake etc when nothing new coming out interests me or patches like this harbinger league make me sad.
the biggest issue in poe is , that standart is being neglected hardcore - not everyone wants to restart every 3 months with 0 from scratch for abysmal or nonexistant rewards for some pixel barbiedoll dressup MTX. its also funny to me , how ggg fails to realize that by neglecting standart and not giving it the same patch as leagues have they keep people away that would otherwise be interested. let people that want to play new league after league do that , and let people that want to play their favorite build on steroids experience the new league too without having to go through the cancerous regearing process. but i guess the technology just isn´t there yet. |

This is going to sound very counter-popular-opinion, but I find the thought of leveling through the new acts again worse than running through the old 3 x 4 acts to endgame. Compound this with Harbinger being arguably the worst league in a long time (ever?), and motivation to play went to 0 for me fast. I bailed weeks ago, but will definitely come back when a new league drops. Can only stay off the juice for so long.
My 200 game Steam list is thanking me. Although I will admit I have bought some shitty games over the years. But now I have a chance to make a list of the ones to never install again! And I am reminded that there really are no decent ARPG alternatives out there that can remotely compete with PoE. I am trying Inquisitor Martyr but it is def sub-par. Strong coffee cannot replace my heroin addiction...... Последняя редакция: Slaanesh69#4492. Время: 6 сент. 2017 г., 09:47:00

@OP
What you are feeling is common, and GGG knows it (this is why we have leagues afterall!). A new league comes out, with new balance changes, skills, and mechanics. It makes the game fresh and fun again for most of us. I would be very interested to see the statistics of in-game population throughout the league--I suspect it starts out very high and then begins on a slow downward trend until spiking (first and only time) for a bit ~two weeks before the end (as people log back in to finish some challenges or try new builds). And that is OK! My wife and I do a similar play pattern. We play hard for the first few weeks and then its more of a sudden stoppage rather than petering out. When this league nears its end we may hop back in to try out a few builds or finish up an achievement or three if we are close to the next reward level (or not). That is one thing that I do like about this game. The fact that I only need to play it for a few weeks out of every three months to stay current, get the most out of it, and it keeps the game fresh and always looking towards the next league. That being said, it would be nice if we had a more consistent race schedule. Races with the craziest mods/changes are great and serve to bridge the boredom plateau that many people hit while playing their favorite game (PoE). |

New leagues are for trying new characters, standard is for perfecting them.

" I took a long break once. I think it was the Talisman league, all the collecting of bits and pieces bored me so much I just quit. PoE isn't the only game to waste your time with anyway. If even the fun is in the journey, not the destination thing doesn't work, that's the time to do something else that may not even involve sitting in front of your pc. |

Killing the Elder or Shaper while following someone's build is like finding a street using google maps - such an achievement! |
