I wonder if some nodes are skipped, perhaps some crit or w/e and go for lion eye jewel setup with claw nodes how that would pan out.

I haven't tried this but certainly seems like a viable option. When you get there let me know how it goes. ;)

You can use any skill you like and it's going to work: Ice Shot, Burning Arrow, Lightning Arrow - all of this will clear the mobs. However this build isn't dedicated to a single element and TS is likely going to clear the mobs faster (the difference isn't super noticeable though, it's more that TS shoots all around while the other skills shoot in a cone in front of you).

My username is: JessicaSc2 - search this in PoB, I got only 1 character (this one). This is my main playing / testing character hence the setup (gems, items etc.) will change in PoB.

what´s better, use pierce for Tornado shot or physical projectile damage ??

The tooltip damage is with flasks active and frenzy charges up. I would swap Vessel for Atziri's Promise and get ToH as well if you want to max out damage. If you want to use Vessel get penetration version, you don't need more conversion in this build. Getting the wise oak balanced is also a good idea but it's a pain in the ass.
