"Talking upcoming endgame content, what's next GGG?" | Your vision for further high lvl content |
The endgame, 124 maps, guardians and the big man himself, Shaper.
The Atlas of worlds gave us a huge challenge and truckloads of fun. The Fall of Oriath fully reconstructed the main campaign. What's next is what I wonder. This thread is about the player's vision of the next big endgame thing. There are indeed a couple of "wildcard" events, like the pale council and hall of grandmasters. Now there are so many jaw-dropping new tilesets. A entirely new palette to spice up the endgame content prime-time. As of today, endgame "ends" with shaper, lvl 83. I personally would love to see an entirely new atlas page with many more maps extending way into lvl 90. What I would really kill for is more challenge, but not in the form of mechanics meant to screw you over that have to be countered with the right skill and gear. (Like reflect or porcupines) (If you wanna share something about those, check out this thread: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2019766/page/1) More bosses and more maps, hell, Uber-shaper. A reason to lvl beyond 90. The the further you get the more fun it becomes, than what if we would have to lvl up to 100 just to face the new final boss, tier 34? (It would be sick) I would adore something that separates the average builds and players from the godlike. A long-term motivation, more "end" for the "game". What do you think? Can you share anything GGG? Последняя редакция: GrayR#7469. Время: 20 окт. 2017 г., 11:23:39 Last bumped17 нояб. 2017 г., 14:56:09

I think it's a good thing (game development perspective) to have some "empty content" for the players who are really willing to spend countless hours. Like levels 90-100 today. Just some mind-numbing grind, a "soft cap" in level progression.
People who don't care just stop, crazy people continue. If we get tier 18+ maps, goals will just shift. Now 95 is the new 90. 105 is the new 100. What did you really accomplish? 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

" Well said, makes sense. I don't feel like poe is that kind of game tho. In the state PoE is today, it's mostly about breaking limits. Look, builds with 15K hp and ones with 40 million DPS. I don't really feel like it's about "accomplishing" something big, it's about doing insane things because you can and having fun for the same reason. The crazier shit gets, the more fun it is, that's how I see it. Ok than, talking game development, the players need to be recruited and entertained constantly, im pitching ideas on how to achieve that. Последняя редакция: GrayR#7469. Well I think there is a good chance GGG will implement "uber-new-boss-fights". By this I mean higher tier versions of the ACT 5 - 10 bosses. Some of those boss fights are really great and it's a damn shame you only see them once per playthrough.
They kind of already have the content ready. It's really just a matter of finding a good way to implement them. |

I think Chris once mentioned there are gonna be t18+ when they have an appropriate content for it. Now that we have it they might push shaper to t18-19 and make more maps t16-17. Again, we speaking of content but content is not important imo. Most important is rebalancing the whole mapping system. What good does it do having t18 maps when you can safely farm shaped t10-12s and lvl up to 100 just as fast as if you were farming t15s+? GGG needs to punish players who choose easier content and reward those who go for harder maps. They should rebalance map bosses as well as the atlas reward for completing maps. Having half of your atlas incomplete should be much more punishing than it is now, we should get really shitty map drops with 70/125 atlas. Right now with 70/125 it so easy to sustain red maps up till t13s.
Tbh if I don't see any of these changes in an upcoming expansion I prob finally giving up on this game and play something else. I still have a hope they change the end game so it s actually worth it to progress. I don't know many games that actually punish you for progressing thru end game. And Poe sadly is one of them. Adding more tiers to the current map system will require some thought from GGGs part. At that point is like 0.5% of the playerbase getting there and then there is the whole power creep thing. It's more adding to the grind rather than adding mechanics that allow emergent behavior (which are the bread and butter of long lived games).
Either way Diablo II managed with 85 as the maximum area level just fine, so it's not like it's needed to go up. Higher item levels came from bosses. Personally I'd love more endgame/roguelike dungeons. The Lord's Labyrinth is great but other areass with different mechanics would be welcome (Median XL had a lot of those, Grim Dawn too). There is space for endgame acts too (not sure how it would be balanced to be reasonably accessible without being trivial for people that run high level maps already). Think of Act 4 Merciless before 3.0. Add a Forsaken Masters questline https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2297942 Последняя редакция: NeroNoah#1010. Время: 20 окт. 2017 г., 23:25:07

Need more content that only 0.1% of the builds can handle.

" Not sure about the 100 floors (it'd be a stupid long run, not sure of how it would mix up with the current game) but descending a dungeon like if it was Diablo I or a rogue would be glorious. Add a Forsaken Masters questline

Something new, not just more.
Labyrinth is fun. Maybe some sort of shipride, where you have to defend the ship, would be fun. - 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0 -- 0 * - < _ > - * 0- 0 * - <
