" No, he was only talking about the elemental resistances. @OP: I seriously doubt that it is worth the hassle to balance resists for Wise Oak. For other builds that are close to 33% damage dealt of every element, sure, easily worth it. But we deal 100% fire damage and would only get the pretty small defensive boost from balancing our resists. I just feel as if you make it into a bigger boost than it is. It is not "less damage taken" like the Inquisitor node. It is reduced and therefore incredibly less effective. Sure, it is a small defensive boost, but I would never go out of my way to get it. If it is achievable without investing too much and without losing any life or damage, go for it. If not, ignore it. Just my opinion. But nice build, I dropped a Lead Sprinkler yesterday and started thinking that it had been a while since I did a stat stacking build, might go for this :D EDIT: What I just noticed, you have Fire Penetration linked. Am I missing something here? If not, switching between Inc AoE and Conc Effect is much better. No need for penetration while clearing so AoE will greatly boost the clear speed. And while penetration is nice against bosses, Conc. Effect is MUCH more damage. Even when you assume that the same amount of balls hit the target it is already 10% more damage according to PoB. But because the balls don't fly so far with Conc. Effect resulting in more balls hitting the boss I would conservatively assume that it is actually at least 30% more damage. I can't imagine you having overlooked such an easy (and huge) clear speed boost while farming for level 100 so I think I must be missing something here? Also sorry if I come across as too nitpicky, just wanna understand your choices :D Последняя редакция: Mecielle#3021. Время: 21 янв. 2018 г., 7:50:06

Thanks for the guide OP.
Would you tell us a little bit about how you leveled or start the league with this character? How did you itemize starting off and what skill did you use until you transitioned to Molten Strike, when you transitioned to Molten Strike etc.? |

Thanks mecielle, I have went through your comments and I will try to answer most of yout questions.
For wise oak, I believe matching resists is 100% worth even if you sacrifice around 600~800 life even if it stacks additively with fortify and other defence mechanics. It might be placebo, but I could actually feel the reduced damage taken with or without matching resists, and since i was pushing to 100, I wanted best efficiency in both offence and defence, which I got from wiseoak without sacrificing much life. For your second part, when trying to map to the most efficient limit, gem swapping becomes a pain in the ass. I farmed my way up 100% on fully sextanted T14 vault with mostly double beyond, if not just single beyond. Sure, conc effect is better for single target, but not by much if you consider that fire penetration is a more damage bonus on mobs with high resistances, also the mote fire pen you have, the better it is since the damage increased by fire pen does not diminish. It''s your choice to go to Inc AoE/Conc effect swap route, but since i always hated gem swapping on bosses,l I chose the overall best option, fire pen. It is technically better to swap out ancestral call for conc effect for bosses, even if you could proc multi call om bosses, I have confirmed that doing various tests. Im trying to get BRRRRW belly in order to do that atm. |

I actually changed to this build from poet's pen build from lvl 98. But you could level entirely with molten strike since you can acquire them from lvl 4. This build scales extremely well with levels, so as you are levelling, you will see the greater potential this build holds

" Thanks, that clears a few things up. Maybe I will have to test and see the effect of balanced resists myself. Math says it is not a big effect, but maybe I am wrong. And the "no gem swapping" makes sense. I just assumed that for T14 map bosses inc. aoe would be enough damage to kill them fast and so result in an overall faster chaining of maps. Well, I am sure I will find what I like best after I tried it, only just started leveling after all. |
