How important is Paragon of Calamity?

I am leveling up a Poet's Pen build (so far Arc / Ball of Lightning) but I haven't decided if I want to go for full lightning damage yet. If it's full lightning, I was told that Beacon of Ruin is great for stacking Shock.

At first I am pretty sure I want Mastermind of Discord because I like Herald but now I am not sure. I thought I need Paragon of Calamity to deal with Elemental Reflect.


What's your take? I even thought maybe I can take 2 Golem passives to get the buffs. 20% damage for each Golem summoned? Not bad! LOL Is it pointless to take the Golem passive if I don't plan on a Golem build?


Can't I just enjoy improved Golem buffs?

Non aoe skill with pendulum of destruction feel like a waste to me, but still, you can't pass on those 25% lightning pen from mastermind, paragon is a must too so you are left with either shaper or liege

Beacon of Ruin is basically mandatory. Anything else past that is your call. The way i am currently running the build right now I took Beacon, Liege and Paragon for the slightly stronger golems(Lightning and Ice) and elemental reflection immunity, plus a little bit of leech. I wouldn't recommend the herald path unless you are running 2 heralds and an area based spell that does elemental damage so you can take advantage of the pathing nodes.
