I would suggest the following in no particular order:

1. A better wand (100% more minion damage and 23/24% attack/cast speed) or (+1 to all minion skill gems with some good damage on it)

2. An Animate Guardian instead of stone golem, the expensive setup on the guide will boost your dps and survivability.

3. Level 21 Raise Spectre Gem.

4. More life on your chest

5. An Aul's Uprising amulet with wrath reserves no mana (so you can use an additional aura).

6. Good shaped gloves with level 16~20 blind on hit on it (change your curse setup to there, it will make a good survivability boost) (If you can get a free preffix you can craft minions deal 10~20% increased damage as well).

7. Bone helmet with +2 or +3 to level of socketed minion gems and high life.

8. You can get better jewels, search for abyss jewels with high life, minions deal #% increase damage if you used a minion skill recently and chance to hinder or other debuffs.

9. Annoint the node "Ravenous Horde" on your amulet or in a better one you plan to buy (Big damage buff).

So far from what I've seen from 3.9 you're dodging most changes by not having a build-critical elder or shaper item, or a watcher's eye.

Are you loading the wand and shield pob? Pledge of Hands doesn't have levelling trees.

I don't know why it doesn't work. Sorry.

But, I have uploaded images for the levelling trees to my imgur account: https://imgur.com/a/LRdO3bs. The level ranges are labelled below the image.

Please follow it as a guide. The level ranges are based on my own playthrough which included doing the side quests for extra passive points. You might be slightly ahead or behind.
