Of course, many people have. The key is to not aim for it! :)

I 6-linked my body armor in this league accidentally while trying to 5-link it. And I've 6-linked several good weapons in the past by just throwing a stack of fuses at them before putting them up for trade.

Naturally, when you actually want to 6-link something, RNGesus will hate you and it will take a lot more than Vorici's 1500 fuses. Unless you're a streamer. Those people always 6-link everything with a just a few fuses.

No, this is not possible. And I don't mean because of low odds, it's technically impossible.

I'm fairly certain someone from GGG explained this years ago, but I cannot find the reference now unfortunately. But it's got to do with how a jeweler's orb works. When you throw an orb on an item, it will add (or remove) sockets, and they cannot be linked to each other, e.g. what sockets you had prior to using the orb cannot be linked to the added new sockets. I'm pretty sure that's how it was explained, hope my memory isn't playing a trick on me. :)

So, in theory it is possible to obtain a 5L if you started out with 1 socket and the jeweler's orb adds 5 sockets and manages to link them all. There are also several examples in the wild of this happening.

Oh, and obviously it will work if you have the Fated Connections prophecy active, but that doesn't count. ;)

You may appear to be right, and all the stories I've heard on the forums could be fake.

Did a small google research, 6L by jewelers is considered impossible.
Couldn't find the technical explanation as well, nor the source. Eventually an ancient 2012-2013 thread with explanation of mechanics by some of the developers.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. I know it was certainly a long time ago, so it probably was in closed beta where mechanics discussions were (more) common.
