I can't understand Blizzard at all. There is soo much money to be made with a well designed Diablo.

OR if you want to fully dedicate resources to the series SELL THE IP or just come out with a game obiturary explaining why you are letting the series go.

I honestly can't believe it.

There are so many gaming studios out there that would KILL for a chance at creating a good Diablo game.

Yeah agree, surely they are working on something. Blizzard just tackled it wrong imo, they better had just said up front, sorry no Diablo stage here this year, because we dont have a major announcement.

Now if you are a big Diablo fan, bought tickets to Blizzcon for some form of Diablo news (an xpac or extra class would have been better than this), than I can imagine the disappointment.

They should just have announced this game in three months time, Diablo fans would not have been disappointed so badly and in fact maybe enjoy the extra platform to play on, and see it as a nice "bonus", now it is just butthurt. (though it is comedy gold to see/read all the responses)

Maybe I will be exiled for this (wink wink) but I do enjoy playing both games.

I hope that D4 will be amazing when it is released, but yes the fans need to realise that they can't always get what they want when they want it. (Just think of the time between D2 and D3)

For now I am just looking forward (without trying to hype myself too much) to the PoE announcements later this month :)

The Mobile game looks for me like a common cash cow.
Im more used to this from EA or the CoD series.

They pissed alot of Diablo fans off annoucing something like that.

Some of the problems BfA had right off the start. They throw out a not well tested addon for WoW and now, even after months of release and annoucement of patch 8.1 things are terrible unbalanced and bugged.

It feels they just lost the passion to create something new and well prepared game.

I dont want to laugh at it, I just think its sad. I loved SC1/BW, WC2/3, D1/2/LOD, but everything they do nowadays is pure garbage.

Bethesda announced an Elder Scrolls mobile game earlier this year. To mitigate the rage from the core fans, they also announced Starfield and TES 6. The announcements showed absolutely nothing (not even a release year) but it was enough to hype everyone. Blizzard could've just shown a D4 logo with nothing else and almost nobody would be mad. Bigly blunder. Even Nintendo knows how to do this shit. When they announced the ultra casual Pokemon which comes out in 2 weeks, they also said don't worry the real Pokemon is coming 2019. Nobody raged.

I just think the target audience and market have changed.

The Diablo fanbase that stems from diablo 1 and 2 and is different from the people who are to buy games like overwatch and diablo 3.

On a side note: What about all this nostalgia people have for d2. It clouds proper thinking. Yes, it was a good game, back when you were younger. It was released 17 years ago, get over it.

I dont see any problem with blizzard searching for new people to sell their stuff too. Its money theyre after, like GGG and every other company ever. And the new audience grew up with mobile games and what not, not with baal runs and wc3 custom maps.

Still, i wish for the diablo franchise to succeed and im not a fan of mobile gaming, nor the focus on making money no matter the costs in design and complexity. And thats why one eye is laughing over the terrible blunder and burns blizzard produced today, and one eye is crying for the old diablo.
