Dread banner/War banner

Hello,
any information about the max stage?

50. It was said in the reveal announcement. Fully charged Dread Banner defensively will be a beast. Wonder how long it will last before GGG nerf it.

That's fine, but not that great. Berserker also instantly recovers 1/4 of his max life on warcies. Look at this:

Holding Dread Banner:
- Fortify: 20% reduced damage from hits (after all mitigations)
- Dread banner: 5% increased effect of fortify per stack (up to 50 stacks, 100% increased)
- So, with a hold fully charged Dread Banner, 40% reduced damage from hits after all mitigations.
- Optionally you can pick the Fortify node on the duelist area, it's another 15%. 20*0'15 = 3%. 43% total reduction and you don't even have to place the banner.

Placing the banner it becomes an aura, so:
- Fortify: 20% reduced damage from hits (after all mitigations)
- Dread banner: 5% increased effect of fortify per stack (up to 50 stacks, 100% increased)
- 5% increased aura effect per stack. That is, +50%, for a total 150% increased effect.
- So, with a hold fully charged placed Dread Banner, 50% reduced damage from hits after all mitigations.
- Optionally, +10% effect from quality. Further 2% reduction.
- Optionally, +15% effect with the fortify node. Further 3% reduction.
- Optionally, +10% effect with the aura node just left of the fortify node. Further 2% reduction.
- Optionally, +20% effect if Champion. Further 4% reduction.

So if GGG has worded the gem correctly, you can keep holding your banner for a 40-43% reduced damage taken from all hits. Or place it for easily 50-61% reduction (not counting any other aura effect nodes or item mods). Then add the less accuracy for enemies.

Total tank mode in a gem slot. Again, if GGG has worded the gem correctly. We'll see.

Edit: not sure if it becomes an aura on placement or if it's always an aura and placing it just increases the area. Reading the gem again it seems to be the latter. If so, then holding the banner is even more powerful that I said. 40-51% reduction when hold, 50-61% when placed.

^ you only get fortify for 2.5 seconds from a max stack banner, infact you should ignore the adrenaline/fortify lines completely in terms of actually providing the buff, I don't really know why they added such a short duration buff on, maybe for flavour?

No idea if the stages will only pertain to when the flags down though, taking the permanent fortify node with double effectiveness sounds fundamentally broken so I doubt it works that way, but it might. If it doesn't then your getting 2.5s of super fortify essentially which could be valuable if planting the banner is instant but more likely than not won't be used.
They removed the double effectiveness from Fortify for the Champion, maybe it gives you a hint ;)

Also, I agree with you about adrenaline: only ways to get it are planting War Banner or Champion on Low Life (unless they add item mods now). But fortify? Even before banners, a lot of people already used fortify support on their moveskill for almost perma-fortify. Now with banners, and considering that you only need 1 gemslot for it, even not-impale builds will use it. They can use and forget, remove it from the hotbar and rely on the 20% impale chance from the banner to stack it (they can take it out of the hotbar because they won't stack it as fast as impale builds, so the opportunity cost of planting the banner could be too high for them anyway).

Champ never had double fort effect, I really don't think they will let you have double fort effect by running around with a banner i'm not saying its impossible but if they did its a glaring oversight.
Since you only get Fortify for 2.5 Seconds its not that big of a deal. even with Skill effect, inc Duration and Efficacy it wont last forever.

It doesn't really specify that the fortify buffs only apply to fortify granted specifically by the banner. So if you're champion or using a movement skill+support, you pretty much always have fortify.
Anyone knows if it might be possible to drop the warbanner with max charges and then instantly after dropping activate the dreadbanner to have somewhat both effects? They pretty well synergize with each other would be a shame if that wouldnt work.
