No matter what build you make all defences are useless, proof:

So if defense doesn't make you immortal, it means it's useless? So the guy got one shot. Without defenses he would have never gotten there in the first place.

There's are builds--extremely expensive builds, but still real builds that aren't stuck in Path of Builds forever--that can literally afk uber atziri and uber elder. Defenses make a difference. But it shouldn't be easy to build that much defense up.

I think you are wrong. Some of those Jugg and Occultist builds are near unkillable.
