Linking PoE account to my steam account

Hi,

Trying my luck on the forums because I haven't received a reply from support in a week.
I can’t play the game through the normal client because of some issues I’m having with installing, however Steam client is working perfectly fine, but the steam account I’m using already has a PoE account linked to it with no characters at all, never used it.
So all I'd like to get help with is linking my "main"(?) PoE account with my steam account :).

How do I start using the Steam client for the first time?

Go to this page. If you haven't played Path of Exile through Steam before, that'll allow you to link your accounts. If it claims your accounts are already linked, that's because they are.

You will then need to download the Steam version of Path of Exile. Your loot filters and settings are stored in /Documents/My Games/Path of Exile/ and should be used by either client.

If you read my post you would see that I said that my steam account is already linked to an account I have never used, this is why I need help from support.
I can't link my account if there's an account already taking up that space.

You need to send Support an email (support@grindinggear.com). They can help you with both unlink that other account and link to your current one.

To you as well, if you read the first portion of my post again, I have already done that, a week ago. :)

Sorry for missing that detail, that you want to unlink first and then link another, in your "Linking PoE account to my steam account" posting ;p

But yes, this unlinking can only Support do.

I hope you had not in your email title "Linking PoE account to my steam account"

Email them again: "Please unlink my PoE and Steam account."

Please do not e-mail them again.

This will reset your position in the queue.
