Hi there, thanks for the tips, the point is, i take your starter build in POB, disable weapon (princess sabre) at all, improve all my gems to be 20/20 and still have less DPS, with my weapon enabled..

ok i don't have your workarounds on the unique ring but I am not sure if they would do all the difference.

btw POB still doesn't count all those?

Yeah it doesnt, sadly.

Anyway, after I properly configured your build (and replaced wise oak with sins rebirth), you are doing somewhat around 1M-1.1M dps atm. With 20/20 gems, 1.4M DPS.

Compared to starter with crit multi, carcass jack, slightly better rolls, it makes sense, right (starter at lvl 80 is around 1.6M dps).

EDIT:

Actually, you have more DPS than starter at lvl 80, you are just not running Vaal RF for burst (almost 1.8M with Vaal RF, ignoring Vaal BV damage, with Vaal BV you are atm doing almost 3M burst DPS, well, if you had 20/20 gems)

So i'm fairly new to PoE but while following this as much as possible (There's a few stat nodes I just had to have in order to use that sword.)

I feel very squishy against bosses and even with all of these ES items I only have around 5.5k ES.

Where have I gone wrong? I am 73 but feel like I should either have more ES or do more damage.

5.5K ES at lvl 73 is plenty (for comparison, my char at 83 has barely 5.9K, but I also didnt really bothered with upgrading my gear). But, your character atm is private, can you publish it so we can take a look?

Managed to grab this amulet with some dex and damage.

It boosted my damage by alot, I lose quite some ES but it's just a placeholder till I can afford something better

Done. Didn't realize that was a thing.

Can someone take a look at help me out, I'm pretty quick but I feel like I'm so bad at gearing myself!

So, you are using lvl 20 IC setup, what will not be active very often.

Then, you do not have cold conversion on gloves.

You are not running utility setup for damage (ass mark + curse on hit + combustion in your sword, or PF + combustion + culling without that sword).

Your helmet is pretty bad as well, Eber's Unification is super cheap atm so I would just get it.

Your flasks are suboptimal as well, no Atziri (what is like 2c), no Sins Rebirth.

For mapping, no onslaught jewel, no alchemist quicksilver of adrenaline.

No wither totem setup (even though early it is not necessary, so that is fine, but later it is the biggest damage boost you can get).

No Arcane Surge (another semi-big damage multiplier) even though your sword should take care about that, but it will be up only half of the time on average from it.

Also, get Diamond Flask ASAP, it is the single item that is absolute necessary on every single crit build.
