Let Me Remind You All Before This New Expansion, What GGG Did to Most Spell Casters

Not trying to write much here, but just would like to remind everyone what they did to warlord's mark and their reasoning at the start of this season. Let us get this straight. They said "we do not want spell casters get such easy access to mana regeneration through warlord's mark leech". But they clearly know, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY 90% OF SELF-CAST SPELL CASTERS, ESPECIALLY ALL MOM CASTERS CAN LEECH BOTH LIFE AND MANA? This is effectiveLY saying "You better not be a life based spell caster". Also don't talk about the 4-link storm brand by zizaran, 99% of the players don't enjoy that playstyle. There are so many spell caster guides that literally say "does not function without warlord's mark on hit ring" (almost all life based non-dot/totem spell builds are like this). They are manipulating all spell casters' choices so that we can only play melee. I think that is also largely the reason why the retention rate is so low. More people like spell than melee, and they sure won't stay because they were forced to play skills that they don't enjoy. i just love it when things which are proven too powerful get adjusted and people flip out. everyone apparently wants a broken game, just broken towards what they enjoy playing. welp have fun |

Oh no. GGG put a booboo on ranged. How dare they put an actual weakness onto casters. They shouldn've made it so that melee attacks wouldn't work with warlords mark instead because: melee lul

I personally dislike builds around warlords mark so, personally I didnt loss anything.
I think the hammer will hit everyone equally here.. "but muh melee" stranger please, clearly tencentggg didnt design the game to be that much melee friendly in the first place perhaps 4.0 will change that. funny thing is some people here still believeing that cyclone will get a free pass to 3.8 perhaps reading or watching synthesis winter orb might refresh their minds.. I have played enough casters to know you don't need Warlords.

" clearly you put "ranged too powerful" the same as "ranged too powerful because of warlord's mark". No it's not. Not at all. If you really think about it, warlord's mark has absolutely nothing to do with the power level of ranged. It's all about sustain, and they made ranged spell casters extremely cumbersome to play. I'm not saying it's impossible, but why would you when you had a toy that worked and suddenly it broke. I guess you as a rational person would just throw it away. |

How about adding a mana flask, spend some points on Mana regen and maximum mana, making that %mana regeneration on item a bit more meaningful?
How about reserving one less aura? How about crafting reduced mana cost on items? How about picking Hierophant if the mana cost too high? There are tons of solutions to this. You don't realize them because all you care about is big lulz DPS. Even with this nerf some people say melee is still trash compared to spells when not considering cyclone. Just for thoughts. |

question - how did casters sustain before warlords mark on hit was meta?? ever think about that? ever ask yourself that? ever look into OTHER ways to sustain?
there are probably a dozen ways to fix your build and make it work without warlord's mark but you're too busy doin this |

Two words: Boot Enchant. BAM! Leech problem solved.
In case you don't know what I'm talking about (which you probably don't given that this thread even exists), you can Lab enchant your boots to give you 0.4/0.5/0.6% life and mana leech after killing recently. Or, you could also go for the regen enchant which grants you 1/1.5/2% life and mana regen per second if you've taken a hit recently. So there. Two perfectly viable solutions. |

" OR hear me out, improve melee while not doing this garbage change for warlord mark. I know, mind blowing. I love that most posters who reply here saying things like 'get over it' didn't actually play a traditional spell caster themselves in Legion. It's a totally unnecessary change that fucks over a previously existing type of setup that wasn't even broken in the first place. Sure you can make things work with some different adjustment but that doesn't mean the change has to happen, which only serve to be an annoyance than a legit design change that makes things more interesting.
