[3.12] Double Strike / Flicker Assassin ~ League starter and ender! U-Elder and U-Atziri deathless!
" Frost Blades is my leveling skill of choice, and Ranger gets it soon as she gets to town, so yes, I would advise that. While leveling, any added damage will help a ton, until around 30, then try to focus more on added physical damage. Use essences to craft gear. You don't have to worry a ton about resists early on, but life on gear is always a big advantage. 30+ again, value both life and resists on gear. Check out the leveling section too. Frost Blades is about as beginner friendly as it gets, I bet you just need to focus on the right things while leveling.
Hey! Loved the build, played it until lvl 92 i 3.9. I was thinking about going over to trying out a jugg version of the build, and had some thoughts of trying out a two-handed version. Do you think it would be possible to pull of (meaning viable for end-game) or just a waste of time? :)
| |
" I suppose that depends on the two hander changes coming with this patch. Jugg would be pretty far from my first choice, I've literally never played one. Big damage loss. Are you worried about being squishy?
I might just start as Berserker this league, the warcry changes and rage stuff looks really fun. The axe Rigwald's Savagery will give 25 extra rage, so we could have a super long Berserk, which I hadn't even included before because it drains so fast. Looking like 30 million dps as berserker using Berserk (or even 38 mill with Aspect of Carnage), compared to the same tree/gear as assassin doing 15 mill. It will probably take cluster jewels and keystones to make Berserker viable and not a pain to use though, compared to the super straight forward assassin. Lots of research to do as they give us updates, as usual.

Big nerfs coming. Dual wielding loses 20% more damage, crit multi nerfed across the board, Herald of Purity changed to % damage instead of added damage.. Hard to say how hard this will hit us, but apparently GGG really wants us to play with two handers.
| |
" Unfortunate :( Delirium was my first league and this was my favorite build that I really invested into. I'm sure it'll still be viable depending on passive tree rework but I might pick a different starter for Harvest to be safe. Interested to see if your Berserker idea works well though! The War Bringer node for Berserker is weird as hell, but there might be some interesting mechanics to work with. This cluster was changed to grant a charge per power, which means one war cry will grant you max charges of one of the 3. That could mean full charges through a whole boss encounter. Spam war cry during shaper dialogue and through uber elder and always be capped.
-- Mob Mentality (Cluster) -- "Exerted Attacks deal 25% increased Damage", "Warcries have 5% Chance to grant an Endurance, Frenzy or Power Charge per Power"
legion sword no longer works with flicker strike. Is this build to dead to play with all the damage nerfs? can you post a link to the new updated tree before league starts =) and if you will be playing assassin or not. I really wanna do this build at league start but im worried with all the damage nerfs.

So is this build is still good in 3.11 or we should find another for league start ?

Not sure how I feel about War Bringer Berserker Ascendancy node.
It says exerted attacks get a 50% more multiplier, but seeing as how the warcries all tend to have 8s cooldown, and only exert 4-5 attacks, that 50% more multiplier on exerted attacks will be shortlived unless you lower cooldowns on warcries by investing a ton of points in the skill tree. You then have to mix in warcries a lot, which is easier with the instant-warcry keystone, but then it shares cds with other warcries, making it so you can't weave more than one. Also, enduring cry won't count for this as it doesn't have any exerted attacks tacked on. Probably better off just taking the regular 4 berserker ascendancies: Rite of Ruin, Blitz, Flawless Savagery, and the dangerous but ridiculous Aspect of Carnage. The only flicker build I played in the past was a pure Flickzerker build (no other attack skills except ancestral warchief for singletarget) and while it wasn't great for bossing, it was absolutely nuts for yeeting through maps.
