I've been struggling to make a final decision on my support gems. I have all the awakened gems ready, so cont dest, cold pen and added cold are all available.

Added Cold is bad; I figured it would be good at the start of the season when they spoiled it, and it looks good on paper, but its worse than just about anything you can take in the 6th slot.

My preference:

Icicle - A controlled destruction, A Cold Pen, Trap and Mine, Swift Assembly (or minefield if you can stand the awful throw speed), 6th gem is pierce or swap it out for hypothermia on bosses. I really only bother to switch on guardians and above. If you have white sockets, ele focus is the best swap for pierce on bosses - A ele focus even better.

With enough PEN on gear, A Cold Pen is worse than empower 4, inspiration, and on bosses, ele focus.

Thanks for your reply. I don't have pen from anything - none on the wand, the watcher's eye is also without it. So I think I will go with Pen as one of my main 5;

As for the bossing 6th gem swap from Pierce, is there a point where Hypothermia loses to Awakened Cold 5/20? I have +1 on wand, +1 on shield, and a +2 corrupt on chest.

Nope, not from PoB anyway. Both lose to awakened ele focus as well. Awakened cold is worse than almost everything sadly.

Hey, recently re-rolled into this build for the better clear speed and good single target. While the clear is really nice on high tier reds the single target not as much. In your 3.9 section on bosses you mention that it gets better after you invest some currency but I've tried to follow this build as close as possible and have most items but the single target is still pretty bad in tier 14/15. Are you able to check out my gear and see if i'm just stupid and missing something? My current plan is to get machina, ele pen on a weapon and then focus on higher ES since i'm pretty low currently.

Everything looks in place, honestly it just looks like you need some gem levels if using icicle. Other than that, and of course the 6 link, you should be good.

Of course, all items can use upgrades, just depends on how much $ you have in your stash.

Aight thanks. I maybe should go for the Prism Guardian as well. Should I change my wand to a ele pen + chaos conversion or is the ele pen enough?

For the Prism gardian set up I was wondering if the Zo tree is better since the shield bonus is less effective. Ive already transitioned to the final tree and when I take out my shield i lose 2000 es from (9300 to 7300). I feel I also really miss zealot's oath in certain long boss fight like Sirus.

I am not there yet currency wise but a Shav with +2 mines and +1 to socketed gems really does what it supposed to do right?

I dropped the nodes in favor of aura effectiveness. You can see my current tree on my character page. Sitting at 74k in hideout no flasks or mines active.

Yes it does, if you get the +1 all gems, empower becomes huge.

I did and it seems besides your weapon having around 35% higher crit multi the only other notable difference is 40% icicle mine damage vs my 15% increased throwing speed. Do you think the enchant makes a big difference for single Target? Clearing on its own is very smooth so I'm only worried about single Target for now.

I am in the same boat. I have put close to 25ex into the build now and it still cannot do anything past a 14 without being extremely rippy. I also have more hideout tooltip and POB than OP (unless I have something configured wrong), but somehow he says he has 8-10 million DPS. We must both be missing something pretty serious or Bottled Faith is really THAT good. I'm currently liquidating my Vortex Occultist (Which cleared content easier than this build with 1/2 the investment) to try and afford a Bottled Faith as that is one of the last significant upgrades I can make that is realistic (the watcher's eye prices are a joke and I will never have 60ex to spend on a single jewel). If I can put together the obnoxious 14ex to get the flask and I still can't do anything past a 14, I will finally have a reason to be done for this league.

Perhaps OP can put up some current, not outdated videos, to show us that stuff is melting as he says.
