1. Regarding The wise oak flask, we want or Lightning res to be Highest, correct?
2. There is no flask that speeds up ) boosts / restores ES?

Atm i am playing carefully and kitting a lot, but i often get spiked down close to zero Es. Often i use Discipline, sometimes I'm not fast enough.

This league is heavy on damage in general for all builds and far from all builds can reach block caps and use recover-on-block as we can, even combined with 100% blinding stuff and being perma immune to shock and ignite. GGG also nerfed some of the crazy dmg from some of the rare monsters from expedition in the last patch.

Yes lightning res should be the highest of the 3 to pen Lightning.

Remove glancing blows point until you have 6k+ ES and a shield with ES recovery. You're only 83 atm and you're missing the biggest defense item (5% es restore on block shield). :) So yes, you need to play at least somewhat safe, which is pretty easy with Ltrap as you can offscreen easily. I leveled on stream from 1 to 80+ before I had my first death in the league, only cause I was cocky doing t5 maps with 3k es total:).

I didn't have an ES recover shield until I was in late yellow/early red maps.

You want to replace your life flasks with the flasks in the guide + rolled for defenses. The recent patch allows you to craft trigger mods on flasks from your bench.

Your lightning dmg craft does no dmg for spells, it's an attack mod and we don't attack. You should soon get a better wand also or see if you can add spell dmg to the one you got as a prefix. A lot of your gear is low-end on ES, you could get 150+ es gloves and boots for a few chaos each. You could instantly gain 500 es by upgrading your 2 rings with 40+ int and 40+ es stat +some resists... those are 1c each. (all in all your ES must be very low, when looking over your gear... remember that each single point of ES scales heavily to provide more ES total in your pool).

Our Vaal disc is our *life flask*. It recovers very quickly and you should just use it anytime you feel the least bit scared, especially if you're low ES and don't have any es-on-block shield.

Obviously the lab enchants are a big deal too that you're missing and then a 6Link eventually. Boots and Helmet enchants are big for DPS and for survival because the 3x pierce allows you to blind entire screens of monsters on maps.

If you pop 20 tempering catalysts on your amulet, you'll gain 200+ ES there too. Come by my stream sometime if you need advice on buying gear and search filters. Have fun and gl :)

Hey guys, hope you're having a good time, i'm making this post so i can share how awesome this build is, i started playing this like 1 week after the league started and i want to give some advice to casual semi-casual players like me that could be having trouble at red maps, so yeah this is for T14 and higher maps. before beginning i want to thanks oestegreen(dissent) for this amazing build and each of you guys helping everyone here with how to upgrade and giving advise.

First i want to say that i'm not playing with a 20 ex+ gear, i'm barely above the 5-6ex budget no 6-link and already killed syrus, shaper, elder,their guardians and uber atziri with this, i'm not min maxed, i'm barely touching 7k ES, and that's quite low for this build. To make things even uglier for me i'm playing without gpu because i can't really afford one, that means low res 40fps in a nice enviroment, with that in mind, i want to say that at first i had trouble playing this because i did not know what to upgrade and did not really play any ES build in my entire POE playtime(1k hours+ in 5 years or so). i was used to be really tanky and just facetank/steamroll everything in my way, this kind of playstyle died with 3.15 so now you need to be at least a bit conscious even when playing really tanky build.

Now is nothing new for us that the game is really scary right now and even more at red influenced maps, and if you want to do all that scary stuff you need to pay attention to certain map mods, is not that you can't play them but if you don't want to lose your precious exp to some red beast and progress your tree in a steady pace you should look for this and take precaution and if it's possible don't run them combined until you are used to the trap playstyle, when it becomes natural then you can run some crazy map mods like this one (https://imgur.com/a/T5EeJKp) so, the mods we want to avoid are these:

-Frenzy charge on hit
-Additional projectiles
-crit mods
-less recovery of energy shield
-no regen
-curses, Vulnerability(deadly with any of the above)>Temp chains> enfeeble
-less maximum resists
-reduced chance to block(this is a heavy one because we regen out of blocks)
-verytania(not a mod but without ailment inmunity is a permafreeze fight)

Everything else is pretty much runnable, and as i said is not that you can't run these separately or any combination of them but you need better gear or add things to your build in some mods case (mana flask for no regen).You should play with these in mind to avoid some sudden annoying RIP and get some quality upgrades, finally PLEASE GET THAT PIERCE ENCHANT IS A GODLIKE QOL, i'm leaving my build here as proof that you can look for any of this in trade site for a very low price.(helm enchant, enlighten, shield, and you can say that chayula and wand are too, bot you can get any of these for 1ex or lower except maybe enlighten or shield)

Would you be so kind to clarify that which gems I should keep on which level if I dont have to level it up and why is that? When I see that some gems in your build is not max I always start thinking that why is that? Did I missed something? etc...

And final question: Is there any ingame item filter you suggest to this build?

Question, if we are close to 75% spell block anyway is it worth switching Tempest Shield for a more damage-absorbing skill like Molten Shell?

I'm particularly thinking for cases like Heists where you need to prep to absorb damage at certain times.

Sigil lvl 12 (if you use sigil, some pick something QOL like portal or w/e) - sigil is nice if you remember to use it when pre-trapping for big bossbois, but if we max-level it we will never hit max stages with our mana usage.

You can face-tank a lot of bosses by putting down sigil, 1 bear trap and enabling vaal disc when you start taking hits while you're just spamming lightning traps nonstop (check video section) --- assuming you have the good damage to kill the boss in next 4-5 seconds.

Tempest shield lvl 7(optional lvl 1, safer if u run lots of reflect maps), cwdt 3, immortal call 5. (for early leveling, keep cwdt and immortal lvl 1).

bear trap lvl 1 (we use it for the 25% debuff --- you can optionally lvl it to max req 72 dex)

clarity lvl depends on whatever is left in your health pool after you reserved zealotry with life.

wave of conviction lvl 1 - same as bear-trap, it's a debuff.

arcanist brand lvl 1 - its only used to apply curses if you're not using skill trigger in your wand.

personally I just use filterblade/neversinks filter, you can google it:)

You could try it, though only 1 guard skill can proc at a time and it puts cooldown on all guard skills when 1 procs. I wouldn't replace IC with steelskin.

Indeed, I think the volume of the author's work is grandiose. I tried to start the league with a trapper (87lvl) and it was a fiasco. I'm not an advanced player, but I know how to close the atlas. I started thinking that I was a terrible player and didn't understand anything. Or the league is bad. But the sst build saved me and I started to cover red cards with less effort. And on the trapper build, the red ones could not start stably. Once again, I thank the author for his build. But if you are faced with huge difficulties (even reading the topic and watching the author's video recordings on twitch), just take a strong build, not this one. Thanks!
