" " Exactly :) I would quote Tarke Cat (a poe streamer) ... anyone in 3.16 who puts out build videos and claims "THIS IS THE BEST XYZ YADA YADA" ... is full of sh**t ;P There are TOO many changes to the skill-tree, TOO many changes to in-game gear, defensive stats, MASTERIES etc etc .... No-one will truly know everything until they've seen the in-game new item stats and play-tested multiple different ways to setup your masteries now on-top of many new ways to path your points, not to mention that they've combined many skill-tree notables and removed others entirely .. example, blast cascade is gone, but instead the power charges now comes from high explosives etc, that's 3 points that was free'd up, but also other things are then nerfed, losing 10% pen on the trap wheel and inc% trap dmg etc, but .. that's then before you start thinking of what you gain from masteries and from free'ing up 3 points etc.. 3.16 is a huge league in the sense of everyone having a ton of things they probably want and need to test .. and any author of any build who claims to have all answers right now, I would follow the advice of Tarke and say they're probably bs'ing you :) That being said, i'll release the *as much polished as possible* POB before league-start happens and i'll try not to BS anyone ;D Since i'm league starting this myself, you can follow the progress! " They are re-working shields so in general it'll be easier to hit block stats + the stats themselves are higher than before.

Preface: I don't like to post an unpolished POB, but since so many are asking "POB POB POB", i'll post a temp one with the big fat underline that I'm still working on it and you should re-visit the guide on the day of release to make sure you have the latest POB. There are still tons of possibilities and so many things to explore and test. There are also still many things broken in POB, gems not updated, not reserving mana yet, some masteries not counting yet, etc etc. Also, with the mastery changes, players can now better customize more points according to their own preferences and what content they enjoy doing the most. Main differences from 3.15 to 3.16 skill-tree:
No glancing blows. No thread of hope. Less initial spellblock and much less attack block (spellblock will be our focus and it'll go up significantly when tempest gem works + ggg already said it'll be more readily available on gear) More ES. Much more ES regen. Fitted Artic Armour for nice phys% mitigation + being freeze immune. No glancing also means not taking 65% of the dmg from blocks. STR req from 111 to 85. Dex req will remain at 72. You have options of getting stats from utmost intellect mastery, but imo i'll rather get the stats on an item piece and grab the intellect bonus from utmost mastery. Dropped "born in the shadows" for explosives expert until further notice, since so far GGG hasn't done the "review on it" that they said they'll do, so it remains kind of useless for a non-evasion build right now. With the new reservation options, we're able to level clarity much higher which should make up for the loss of regen by not having mystic bulwark %reg per spellblock anymore. I've done a lot to make the tree make sense for starting out and I'm actually really glad that we will be able to roll without a thread of hope now as it's 1 less unique to chase in every league start and less taxing on the budget. Overall, using the identical gear as was used in the 3.15 POB, despite having lost some nodes on the tree and lost 2 jewel sockets (GGG really spaced these out a LOT), we've got similar damage, some masteries are still broken/not counting. Like if you pick the %chance for extra traps being thrown, it does nothing for the dps calc in POB etc. The thing is, this could swing both ways since its super hard to tell the end-game outcome until we get to really play/test these masteries and also the improved gearing. In general, there's a TON of possibilities and it WILL take actually playing the game and testing these many things to optimize fully what's best. Theory building:

I could see a world where ES + cap spellblock + some evasion could all work together. Stuff like sin-trek boots + jade flask + various es+evasion items. Might be something to test in the future depending how the whole new gearing works out, especially now that ghost dance is a keystone on the tree.
( Problem: Builds wanting to invest in both Evasion and Energy Shield rely heavily on Ghost Dance, requiring them to be a Trickster. Solution: Give everyone access to Ghost Dance as a Keystone Passive.)
Another theory idea is dropping shavs body armor, picking the 30% of chaos dmg does not bypass ES and picking the chaos wheel right near our main trap nodes for a ton of chaos ress combined with our +60 chaos ress from chayula. We'd still get hit by 70% of the chaos dmg, but with chaos ress cap and potentially being able to run our life at 30-40%'ish (to still benefit from Pain Attunement) with added reservation gear and life reservation mastery, I could see a place where it could be extremely fun building around an actual rare vaal bodyarmor with spellcrit%, 700ES+ and all kinds of juicy stuff as opposed to the same old shavs;) Again, these are theories and fun stuff in my head, not anything i'm suggesting for the guide or saying would work, so don't do it and hate me after :D Последняя редакция: oestergreen. I'm also gonna be curious to see pricing on ES gear, this league is making Evasion and Armor builds more feasible so it might make the gear more affordable then it has been in the past

Hi, can you do an update on league start skill tree? I would like to league start with this but i'm not sure which nodes should I prioritize. Thanks in advance!
| |
Like Necroith, I'd also really like to know which nodes to prioritize in the beginning. Are there some nodes that make a lot of sense during leveling that would not be in the "final" build (i.e. should be respecced later on)?
Anyways, also wanted to say thanks for the great Guide and all the work you put in! Best regards
Hey, I was interested in running Lightning Trap this league and found your guide. I saw what you were doing with your tree and here's my take: https://pastebin.com/pJDXViNM
Its very similar to yours except I go further down from Pain Attunement to grab the ES and reservation cluster. Also included a small Armour cluster for Enduring Composure as well. I don't believe that running Arctic Armour is worth it since we can pick up Freeze immunity from the new Pantheon and can just use boots with the Cannot be Chilled mod. Look forward to your finalized tree! For those who are looking for a leveling tree/life based tree, this is the one I'll be using till I can transition to LL: https://pastebin.com/i8ixWTrV Before you get your hands on a Lioneye's Vision, you can just spend three points for Piercing Shots and before the cluster jewels: I would just take Survivalist, One with Evil and for its mastery: Corrupted Blood Immunity.
" A lot of the defenses of the build come from being able to offscreen most content and preload a bunch of traps to delete bosses right as they spawn. livejamie
| |
Here is a hybrid leveling tree I put together that should get this build through the story and into early red maps with trash gear.
Any feedback is welcome. https://pastebin.com/km995Faj
" https://pastebin.com/B4HNREws - It's better, the staff costs 2s. The block is terrible at an early stage, it's better without it. There are no innocent people.

" I would take damage immunity for traps on one of the masteries. Otherwise traps get destroyed by any damage if they take damage before triggering.
" That's not true in new patch. Traps in 3.16 are invulnerable from taking damage for 2 seconds after they have been thrown. |
