my result after 8 tries and hitting both anuls.



The second one I got on the last try and anuled it. I guess that one is really solid. At least from my small sample size I would say going for the fossil is worth it. Even if you get only +1 to Level of all Spell Gems with some usuable minion mods you can get your money back.

Did another 4, so out of 12 times I got only the two above.

okay thanks for that info! First 4 socket resonator hit and also first annul hit.

The other mods are meh, but idc at the moment.

Is there a trick to summoning Stoneskin Flayers!? I select them from the ground but 80% of the time they're not created and instead another monster next to it is selected... I'm having a really hard time to summon them :S What am I missing? I can't seem to pinpoint it on them even though it says on my mouse over tooltip and their corpse is outlined! :(

Thanks, I did that already. But somehow even though flayer is outlined he's not raised.. It works after a while, but I hate spending many minutes on it. Will keep trying to figure out what's the problem.

Do you use a "Trigger a socketed spell when you use a skill" wand? In that case, remove all gems in the weapon except desecrate and try again.

Wipe out all your spectres before starting. You're probably just replacing flayers with flayers as it just replaces a random spectre, not your last summoned one.

Yeah, I move my desecrate into my boots to be able to cast it and my wand is empty.
I think I knwo what the problem was - when I go to my primeval chambers with crawler, there's a lot of uneven terrain (stairs, steps etc.)

trying it there fails like I described. I go to some flat terrain outside the main room where the crawler spawns - and there it works! I can successfully target and summon a stoneskin flayer! So annoying!
