nice wand, change it for what you want, mb some buff... u need a better belt with cdr and another gloves with some damage...
I seems a bit lost about mana reserve situation. The original guide says that if you have mana reserve problems then pick up theinspiration. However, testing shows that without inspiration mana reservation requirement is actually lower. With "-9 mana cost" enchant i don't have enough mana for 6-link VD/DD with inspiration. Without inspiration i can do it. What is the optimal end game setup, is Sovereignty node a must have for this build ?
I like VD but everytime i play it i got huge freezes...

What lab enchantment would you recomment? I currently think:

On gloves Commandment of Flames/Inferno or maybe Commandment of Reflection as a additional defence?

On boots obviously "Adds 45 to 68 Fire Damage if you've Killed Recently" or "Damage Penetrates 10% of Enemy Elemental Resistances if you haven't Killed Recently" for single target.

On helmet I am also not sure what is useful/best:

- 40% increased Volatile Dead Damage
- Volatile Dead Consumes up to 1 additional corpse
- 12% increased Volatile Dead Cast Speed
- is DD enchant also viable?

Edit: I forgot to mention spellslinger CDR and reduced mana reservation as a possibility. At the moment I dont have CDR on boots/belt, so I think spellslinger CDR enchant makes no sence cause I dont reach 52% breakpoint? Reduced mana reservation maybe frees up the -9 mana cost on ring, but is this worth, or is there any point on this? I read about Circle of Anguish with Herald of Ash roll, but this would make a lot work on gearing :D

Spellslinger itself is 19% at level 20, 20% at level 21.

If you get a helmet with the 30% cooldown enchant (there's two, a 20 and a 30%), and a 20% cooldown belt (or 19% if you have lvl 21 gem), then you hit the 69% breakpoint, which is a rather large single target dps boost (40'ish percent APS equivalant).

There is quit a bit of options for main 6l setup. SS and VD are mandatory, but then we have quite a bit of contenders for remaining 4 slots

- Detonate Dead
- Spell Cascade (or is it also mandatory ?)
- Elemental Focus
- Inspiration
- Controlled Destruction
- Concentrated Effect

Did anybody theorycrafted the best configuration for clearing and single target DPS ?

I'm still unsure of what to replace wave of conviction with. it can't be fammability bc i have it on my ring, and can't be ele weakness bc i dont have dual curses. I suppose tempest shield could work, and it would put me close to the spell block cap too. just seems a waste since the lightning damage is negligable

I'm curious about this too! personally I have been using hypothermia, thinking about swapping to conc effect for single target dps.
Its a difficult topic because there are so many variables.

spell cascade is a must, it increases the standard 3 consumed corpses from vd to 9.

DD fits well, because it consumes 1 corpse (3 with spell cascade), and you spawn 12 each cycle (desecrate + spell cascade = 10 + 2 undertaker).

an option would be to use awakened spell cascade (~16ex :-( ) for potential 15 vd corpses, then there would be no use in DD.

controlled destruction looks nice from damage numbers, but then there is the question, if normal wand attacks can crit to trigger elemental overload (or not to use elemental overload).

Inspiration is a nice damage boost, but hast to be present in your 6-link as well as in your barrage setup.

elemental focus prevents burning ailment, though burning is IMO not very strong/important, because only one instance will deal damage and we deal multiple but small instances of dmg -> any other opinions here on this?

other support gems need to be checked via POB regarding their added damage. (flammability, fire penetration, ...)

correct numbers for overall dps are hard to figure out, because not every corpse explosion hits a specific target (lets say sirus). but to have a basis, i do count them in. so calculate:

vd spell damage from POB * 9 (9 corpses)
+ vd corpse explosion damage * 9
(+ dd spell damage * 3)
(+ dd corpse explosion damage * 3)
= sum X

X * actions per second (see table with cooldown recovery speed, 69% CDR = 3,03 APS)
so its X * 3,03

this should be the DPS value under perfect conditions.

important: im not an expert for VD Necro, these are my assumptions. i cant guarantee that all of them are correct, so i am highly interested in other opinions if everything works as i expect it to. :-)

Thanks! Does the above means that one cast of entire setup should spawn 9 orbs ? I definitely don't see that.
