[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

Here are some small comments to consider for next update

1) The buff to determination is so big that I really feel Inexorable is not worth it any more. As was suggested earlier, we should swap this to Swagger. We still get the Endurance Charges but also pick a ton of damage via Frenzy charges.

2) I have to think a well rolled Watcher's Eye would be better than at least one of our jewels

3) I agree that we need some ES leech in the build. The HP pool is really big and don't forget that our gear will all have more ES on it when compared to 3.15 due to the base buffs for ES and armor. As such I think you could safely trade ES/Life on the tree for ES leech

4) There is no need to change the POB for this comment but it is clear we are way over invested in elemental resists. That should open up some spots for us when gearing to get some other mods that will help us.

5) Remove Fortify from the Config

6) Does Void Sphere do anything with the tree change around Unnatural Instinct?

7) The build has a large pool of unreserved mana (much more than usual). Do we even need to bother with an Enlighten anymore?

8) POB is not yet working for this cluster but I feel like the Safeguard cluster is objectively stronger that the Arcane Guarding cluster due to the mastery which gives us back most of the damage we lost in the Arcane Guarding cluster from 3.15

So fun!!!! Thank you so much for the theory craft! I am interested to hear your thoughts on my comments.

@Clay I noticed that you are using elemental focus, won't that turn off our Shaper of Storms?
I like that we may not need either a Blue Nightmare nor an Enlighten 4(and maybe not even an enlighten at all if I am understanding the latest POB correctly).

That is going to save us some valuable currency and likely makes acquiring Aul's amulet more reasonable.

It is Reckoning that provides the shock, not Incinerate.

Shaper of Storms shocks from all hits, so we get shock as a freebie with Reckoning which hits as a counter attack.
Could someone smarter than me look over this POB? I want to know if I'm doing something wrong or missed something obvious or cool. It's based off someone's version of this build that I got from poe.ninja:

It looks really good.

Obviously you don't need all that resist so when gearing you can look for other mods that help us (armor, ES, life, spell damage, elemental damage etc).

The only big change from our build is your are using Petrified Blood to get your low life where we hope to use the Coward's Legacy belt again. If you can afford the belt, I would recommend it since you get back 50% of your life pool.

Note that we are in the midst of making some changes to the build so you should check back in a couple of days and see where we landed.

We are considering the following changes:

1) Replacing Inexorable with Swagger for enchant on boots

2) Replacing Arctic Armor for Herald of Ash (since we have other ways to get freeze immunity)

3) Keeping out eye on what the prices will be for Aul's Uprising, of which if we can afford it, we will get one with with either Determination or Purity of Elements that reserves no mana. That will allow us to add Purity of Elements to the build which received a massive buff this league. The amulet also has great synergy with out build in its other stats.

4) Trading the Arcane Guarding cluster for Safeguard cluster. There is a strong mastery point in Safeguard that we may want for damage.

Note that when playing, we believe Skin of the Lords (with a good keystone) will be better than a corrupted Skin of the Loyal this league, but that will be for end game stuff since it is likely to be expensive this league with the large buff to Skin of the Lords.

Also, make sure you grab the level 5 of awakening gems when you get to them. There are a lot of goodies added in 3.16 to the level 5 gems that will help us.

How about this? This version also has some more free points to play with (tree is made for around lvl 93 now).

Great call on the Safeguard cluster, didn't notice that one (and indeed it's not working yet. With it, we are spell block capped).

Void Sphere does still give hinder to enemies, but I would argue that Unnatural Instinct might not be BiS anymore there, since all we get is some life and cast speed (although cast speed is great for Incinerate). And we can drop Void Sphere.

As you can see, in this version, I dropped most of the right side of the tree in favour of Safeguard, BUT that does mean that we would have to anoint Whispers of Doom (which is very expensive to do...)

You are correct on the Enlighten. Another possibility might be dropping the Mana Efficiency nodes, if you need more skill points.

Added back in the Watcher's Eye btw, forgot to add it in last nights tree :)

Here's my take on the build https://pastebin.com/y4fuL6A3

I managed to get much higher DPS (there might be some POB Warrior checkboxes on, but I didn't change much) by anointing Swagger instead of the endurance charge notable. I figured we still get the charges from our cluster jewel, albeit slower.
I also came to similar conclusions as you guys concerning the blue nightmare, but I figured I'd try a thread of hope in the witch area and found that you can get access to a bunch of strong notables with a large ring.

I was very point starved until I've read the idea of dropping the shadow area and am now very happy with this setup!

It lacks some max res and armor, but I hope that its still tanky enough with all the armor, endu charges, vines and the elemental aegis.

Ohh, I like this baseline to play with a lot.

Note, we should consider NOT anointing Whispers of Doom. I think going with a single curse and then using Swagger is objectively better.

Not only do we get more damage with Swagger vs the second curse, we also get back our endurance charges and Swagger is more affordable than Whispers of Doom.

This also frees up a socket for us but I am not imaginative enough to know what we could put in place of Elemental Weakness.

Edit: After seeing the Large Thread of Hope being used in the new tree, it looks too OP to leave out. Take a peek at what DeNachbar was able to pick up with it. It was extremely efficient.

That is really nice looking. Here are some comments

* Swagger gives Endurance charges as well, you don't need it in the cluster if you don't want it.

* That Large Thread of Hope is OP, I am definitely using that. You picked up so many nice nodes!

* You can actually achieve much higher DPS too when all is said and done. None of the benefits from the level 5 awakened gems are in place yet in POB and if you felt tanky enough, you could easily swap out Arctic Armor for Herald of Ash although with your damage level, I would stay with arctic armor instead of HOA.

* I think you can drop Enlighten entirely as well

* We talked about this earlier but I will mention here since we are theory crafting. Some of us are nervous about using VRF since the downside leaves us vulnerable to death. If you are afraid of the down side, for a little less damage but no downside, you can consider using Vaal Haste instead.

* I think you have two Infernal Cry's enabled by mistake in the skills. You can toss one of them. I don't think it is effecting any numbers though.

* Don't worry too much about your armor. You are still missing the massive buff to determination. Once POB updates that gem, your armor will be great. I can't speak yet to how much you will miss the max resist. Arctic Armor protects you against Fire and our Cold resist is already excellent. But this is where losing Fortify will show up so we need to see how it plays out.
