[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!

Thanks to the good work done by 8r3nt, I have updated the POB and created a second version for those that want to try this with Asenath's Gentle Touch gloves.

I removed Flammability from the build and was able to squeeze back in Defiance Banner. I changed out the ring to get better chaos and lighting res (it has a crap implicit but I don't care since this is just theory crafting).

Watching 8r3nt's video, it looks like we should never have to cast IC unless against a single fatty making for much smoother game play.

The damage is slightly lower due to some tree changes needed to support the gloves, but once the buff's come in 3.17, we should be close to 16m with this version, which when coupled with better clearing, and still kick ass defenses should be a very nice version.

I was trying to see if there was a way to remove IC entirely from the build but I don't see a Fire Mastery close enough to grab the ASH we need vs single targets.

Anyways, here is the first cut of it. Big thanks to 8r3nt for his editing of the tree, I never would have figured this out on my own.

Please review and provide comments. This is super end game stuff since the entire build is almost all uniques but should be hella fun to chase :)

yup explosions feel so good! also that was just a demo i put together im not using any cluster jewels or high end gear. so damage is not even half of what it's supposed to be. but you really just need to kill a few white mobs and everything else will explode.

I have poor eye sight on these vids but am I correct in saying that was an alched T15 map you ran for the experiment?

Did you take the 40% phys to fire conversion fire mastery? it does not show in your tree. if we dont fully convert the explosion dmg to fire, avatar of fire will remove any non-fire damage, resulting in significantly weaker explosions.

also i use lightning warp + less duration, just teleport into packs and everything explodes.

You're right! I completely forgot the mastery. I didn't record it this time, but I tried a T16 Wharf after taking the 40% phys > fire and it was much better.

Is it possible to swap one of the two medium clusters to a burning damage cluster? Wrapped in flame would give 5% chance for ash which might be enough since it's only needed for bosses and we have fast cast speed.

Maybe smoking remains for the second one for 35% increased fire damage?
It says "5% chance to Cover Enemies in Ash on Hit while you are Burning", not when the boss is burning :D

I dont think that's good, and Inferal Cry is easy enough to use to cover boss with ash

This is for one of the new versions we've been working on that runs RF so we are always burning. :-)

You're right that it's not good for the original version.
So this morning I woke up and thought hmm, maybe I can do a cold totem with brittle, then thought let me check what kind of damage is needed to get the full brittle effect... then I thought lemme check with the incinerate build to make sure it's not a POB warrior thing.

The old fandom wiki says brittle calculation is this (poewiki.net didnt have the formula): Brittle's magnitude is given by the formula: 25 * (Damage / ailment threshold)^0.4.[1]

Assuming this formula is correct, and google says Sirius's threshold is 25M...

If you hit him with 10M then it's 25 * (10M / 25M)^0.4 = 17% crit

Playing with a recent Brigtol POB it seems like you need 12% brittle to reach 100% crit.

So for this (crit) build brittle of 15% in the POB sounds reasonable, but not sure if I can get that with say a glacial cascade totem

2 leagues ago, when the prices for pretty much everything that made this build work skyrocketed, I remember seeing the belts for 10ex+, and I just couldn't get there

I've tried many other builds since then, none of them have come close to the survivability of this build, and I really truly miss my little burner witch :)

Now that we are getting buffed, and from what I can see from all the new pob's, unless an item really gets popular, aside from Bottles Faith, I don't see anything that would break the bank cost wise?

Andy's latest pob with Asenath's really has me interested in that.. seeing those pops is exciting!!

Is it still a choice between a witch a templar, or is one winning out?

there are a lot of pob's flying around, seeing a mention that Natural Instinct might not be required anymore is big for me at least, it was always 5-8ex.. and long grind to get there

A lot of people are talking about the 5th ascendancy, it might be stupidly expensive, or incredibly rare, but lord does it have possibilities...A really pie in the sky idea is, for a witch, we could steal the occultist pops, but we do enough curse to activate it? for a templar, so many choices.. 80% less curses, a huge armor boost, or that 30% aoe

is there a finer tuned pob for the witch yet?

You would have to play around with it to know for sure since your damage would be split between 3 or 4 totems instead of one big hit, but I think you probably could.

Reason I say that is I'm currently playing a Guardian version which has much lower dps than Brigetiol, but I still hit 15% Brittle almost instantly.

I'm taking two masteries on the tree that give increased effect of ailments. One for 40% and one for 50%. 90% total increased effect makes it really easy to hit the cap.
