[3.11] Debeon's Dirge Ice Crash 3M DPS 6.5K HP HUGE Evade + Dodge

Potentially league starting this build. If I do, I will be streaming my league start on twitch. Url is https://www.twitch.tv/BeardBroTTV

Will add more to this build guide once we get updated POB

The POB is without Warcries and with Pre-Buff Ice Crash, expect the DPS of the build to double, potentially even more than double.

Gear Variations

Devoto's Devotion can be used in helm slot, as well as a rare crafted helm. Soul Tether can be used in belt slot, if you want a little more survivability. Belly of the Beast can be swapped for a good crafted rare or for Carcass Jack or a few other uniques for different styles of play. I chose to use a more defensive route until I feel out the league and see what I want to do, but each player has to decide for themselves ultimately

Idea behind build:

Basically, with the buff to 2H weapons, the addition of warcries, and the HUGE buff (almost a 75% damage buff) to Ice Crash, I decided I would unsheathe the good old Debeon's Dirge and unleash hell. With this weapon, upkeep on your warcries will be very important because it is a direct damage buff. We will be rotating between a few warcries situationally. I will explain the situational use below! Due to the elemental nature of the build, and the lack of points we can invest in crit, I decided to go Ele Overload, which is a reach and costs alot of points, but its 100% worth it. Due to the need for Ele Overload, we need reliable crits, hence the CWDT 2L With ball lightning (this guarantees almost 100% uptime on Ele Overload). We go ranger for frenzy charges to make the build feel very strong and fast despite being a 2H build, and for perma onslaught, as well as HUGE evasion. The build boasts 6k HP as well as 80% Evasion + 40% Attack and 30% Spell Dodge. Hardcore players can swap out Auras to fit in Grace for more defensive capability if they desire.

Warcries and their situational uses
Скрытый текст

Enduring Cry: Defensive Warcry, use to regen a large amount of HP
Rallying Cry: Offensive Warcry, use when you do not need to regen HP

Fist of War - Have no way to test it, but could potentially be a very good support for the build

Leveling guide will come soon, going to plan out how I want to level then update here. Probably going to do Frost Blades and transition into Dirge around Lv50-60

EDIT LOG:
Edit 1: Pastebin Change, Tree modified slightly to fix warcry cooldowns to be less than 4 seconds to keep Debeon's Dirge buff 100% uptime. New Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/gKpnVcxw

Hey there!

I was thinking of a Debeon's Dirge Ice Crash character as well, so I was curious how you were planning on building yours. Turns out they're almost completely different so they aren't highly comparable (mine will likely be a crit Slayer version) but I did see some interesting things I wanted to ask about and some areas of your build which I'd worry about.

Do you plan on using both Ancestral Protectors and Ancestral Warchiefs? I've never seen anyone attempt to do that--probably due to the time it takes to summon both different kinds of totems. Looks like you're doubling down on totems as a source of buff damage with Panopticon. Do you think a single Vaal Warchief setup with damage support gems would be better and more consistent for bosses?

Looks like you're going heavy into Evasion for defense--most of the time when I see Raiders they're using Dodge for defense rather than Evasion stacking. Considering Warcries now scale better with larger, slower attacks, do you think it would be worth it to go Avatar of the Veil for that additional dodge chance instead of going both the Frenzy and Onslaught route?

Mark of the Inward Eye, Bottled Faith, Mark of the Elder, and all of those Awakened gems are all super endgame items--will your build scale well without them since this will be a league starter?

The new Warcrys seem to have an 8 second cooldown to begin with--with about 4 attacks per second I'd worry about the Exerted effects running out too quickly. Also, your skill tree is so spread out in order to reach EO that there is no room to put in Cluster Jewels. Although the Warcry Cluster Jewel nodes were nerfed, I think there are several that are going to be pivotal to reaching maximum Warcry effectiveness.

Thank you for your feedback, and questions. Due to the nature of Debeon's Dirge, and the lack of elemental scaling on this section of the tree, it IS necessary for my setup to reach for EO. It's just TOO much damage to pass up, and allows me to make use of a well placed Split personality to top off accuracy.

I took into account your mention of warcry cooldowns and fixed my tree to accomodate Dirge more. We now have a total of ~92% cooldown recovery, meaning Warcries should be on at MOST a 4 second cooldown, but more closely to 2-3 seconds.

Alot of melee builds stack both ancestrals with a multiple totems cast, because its such a huge buff, its hard to pass up, so i dont think its something you should overlook. Having both totems out buffing you with panopticon is just huge, and you really only need to manage it well for bossing, mapping more than likely wont NEED it.

Avatar of the Veil is nice, but this build wants to pump through maps, and onslaught definitely helps that alot. Having 20% move speed from onslaught and potentially 20% more from Devoto's Devotion should you choose to wear it just means you will zoom through maps, which makes up for some of the clunky feel of ice crash. That being said, Avatar of the Veil is just as suitable as Onslaught is, its just up to you as a player. If i feel like I am lacking defensives in red maps/bossing i may swap it myself. It's a 10% movespeed loss and some DPS loss, but a good layer of defense.

As for Exerted attacks, reducing cooldown of warcries by 6 seconds should fix that, however I am not overly worried if my exertions run out before the cooldown is up, its only 1 aspect of the builds DPS that has not even been factored in at the time of this writing, and the build still has enough DPS to reliably clear most/all content.

Hey, I am really interested in your build and was just wondering if Empire's Grasp would be a great fit with the build? My guess is that we will lose too much stats for a mechanic that would not greatly benefit but I think that could be fun.
Fist of war wont be any good. You can just devide the more multiplier by the cooldown of it and by your AS. It's something like as a 25% more multiplier in your build. It's not really worth it for any build with more then 2 AS.

As for all the warcries I just dont think all the points are that valuable. You got 90% cooldown recovery reducing their cooldown from 8 seconds to 4.2 seconds (100% cooldown recovery cuts the cooldown in halve). I think only intimidating warcry and seismic warcry give a decent amount of damage, and you just dont have enough uptime for them to be worth it. You are most likely looking at a 25% more multiplier from the warcries with maybe halve of that coming from the 12 points(or 15 points if you count the gem slot) you invest in it. You can get more damage by just not investing into warcries (but still use them) and drop those 12 points in somewhere ells.

Definitely not a fit for the build!

I will make changes once I can plug stuff into POB, but until i can do that, I will probably leave the warcry investment where it is.
Always loved Ice Crash and kinda want to play a raider for league start, starting with frost blades sounds like the best play here; hope the rest of the build pans out!

I wont be league starting with this, but it will be a secondary or tertiary build for me, I hope you like it though! I will update things once POB updates! :) Just trying to push out a bunch of league start ideas for everyone to have access to :D
Thoughts on General's cry setup (with desecrate for bosses w/o adds)?

It seems like single target will be one of the main issues of melee builds, especially annoying vs bosses that run/teleport away like sirus. Chasing this guy down with melee anything, including ice crash will be painful.
For most regular map bosses, having vaal double strike, pretty much guarantees burst kill, but this can't be used vs bosses that don't provide souls for vaal skill.
