[3.19] ⚛️ Qosmoz's 🔥 Blazing Salvo Mines Saboteur 🔥 League Start to Uber Bosses!

I've been trying to follow the guide more closer to see what else I can improve, and it's asking to drop Minefield/Swift Assembly in favor of Charged Mines...

This makes our map clear quite abysmal...

Do you swap between the two on bosses? Is this even good enough for bossing without any way to accelerate the mine throws?

EDIT: After testing some more... Even on bosses we barely ever have enough time to throw multiple mines, so not using Minefield makes the damage significantly lower due to not being able to even throw so many mines...

In your Uber Elder / Sirus videos back from 3.15 I am also seeing you actually using Swift Assembly support. Is the PoB skill list correct then?

I just crafted an absolute monster of a wand:

This was my last upgrade in the current batch.

As such I have 2 wamds to give away to someone who is still starting out:

Also have my old Shavs unused - can give away if someone needs.

And some gems

Please ping me IGN ForBlazingOutLoud if you'd like em :)

If nobody picks them up in the next hour or two I'm just going to sell them :)

How did you craft that wand!?

Personally I stuck with the minefield, because after playing a miner several times, I feel like I really want the QoL of throwing bunch of mines once in a while instead of constantly mashing mine skill button. If that means a bit less dps for me, then I'm cool with it (at least for now).

I did a lot more testing since posting, and QoL even for boss fights without Swift Assembly or Minefield is just nasty.
We need that or otherwise we are going to be stuck in one spot for a very long time and will barely ever reach our full dps due to not being able to pop all mines.

It feels like getting rid of Minefield/SwiftAssembly makes this build a PoB warrior instead of an actual option.

I would love to see some replies from other people who think otherwise :)

I bought a broken base (all suffixes filled, one open prefix) for 5ex, yolo annuled a suffix, crafted prefixes cannot be changed, scoured, and multimodded :D

DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME. YOU WILL MOST LIKELY LOSE 2-5ex and have nothing to show for it!

Also notice how PoB calculates damage if you replace Swift Assembly with Minefield. Just because of throwing speed reduction stat on Minefield, PoB thinks it's somehow sort of 30-40% less dps compared to Swift Assembly. Of course it's not accounting for Minefield being able to nuke whole screens of stuff, so there's another possible pob-warrior-y aspect there.

If I were to compare the dps between versions of the build, I would first take a look at only the "hit" stat of one single projectile of one single mine, without exposure, flasks and such. Be it minefiled, assembly or just plinking one mine at a time, it all then depends on your playstyle and skill. But just direct projectile hit number is, I think, a fair baseline for comparison of what you can pump out of the build here.

Back to the minefield/assembly, I think the QoL is critical during long play sessions, and it is my experience so far, that I just like minefield more. After getting my 6L, woke Ele Focus 5, helm enchant and fire penetration Watcher's Eye, the build did really lift off for me, I just pre-fire mines to the edge of the screen as I run and, hehe, blaze it. I never understood how people would have patience for swift assembly without investing insane amounts into mine throwing speed, and even then there's only so much you can squeeze out of available options.

I'm sorry if my post seems like a ragtag assembly of rambling thoughts (and yes it is just that too). All I was saying is, I agree with you that minefield/assembly are sorta mandatory for smooth playing, at least in my experience.
I don't think minefield or swift is needed. Just me I guess.
I am more curious about this Minefield/Swift assembly vs no swift.

maybe qosmos can come in and explain any rationale or someone can ask on stream.

I dont have issues throwing mines once I have frenzies? I have doo doo gear (You can look) and I dont seem to have much issues with clear because snakepit. I throw 1/2 detonate, clear pack. For bosses I can usually chuck quite a few then firewall/arc brand and move on. I just got my 6l and I have been working through what gems to use.

I havent even qualitied my supports yet.

my take on this: minefield is better vs. last leagues (due to buff on mine throwing speed on the gem) and if you have good enough mine throwing speed, you do not feel the downside of it and makes everything smoother. Especially mapping.

That's why a few posts ago, i've recommended to use minefield in mapping overall. It comes to this;

1. If you want to one-shot bosses (if you have the potential dps) and front load and delete the bosses (or phase them) in one go; then use charged mines + awakened ele focus.

2) if you are lower in dps and one shot potential is not there, use minefield because it'll make your dps sustain much better against bosses especially when they start to move around a lot (sirus, maven etc.)

3) Swift assembly fallen from my recommendation list due to minefield gives much better consistent mine throwing.

4) My personal preference at the moment is to have charged mines + minefield as the last gem slots.

5) My preferred 6 link: blazing salvo + high-impact + trap and mine damage + inspiration or awakened fire pen (more or less similar damage but ins. makes mana reservation slightly better with a few 100k more damage) + charged mines + minefield for everything in game

Really enjoyed this leaguestarter, was also fun minmaxing a little bit!

I have played with charged mines and ele focus the whole league and have found no real issues. I just run arround, place one mine and detonate and all the mobs on the screen mostly dies for me, I personally don't see the need for minefield.

I did try using minefield, but only at lvl0 with no quality, but that felt really bad for me. So perhaps with lvl20 and 20% quality it would feel better, but I have no issues with my current setup so I don't feel the need to switch.
