[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
Hello, Thank you for all the wonderful information. I am targeting this build as my next build.
I have one quick question after reading the guide. It was mentioned that cast speed is not important for the staff. Why does the self cast staff (Icestorm) not benefit from cast speed? |
|
" Technically it does, but very little. Because the spell summons a storm and you can only summon a total of 5 storms before it despawns the first, stacking cast speed only makes you reach max storms faster. It does not improve your max dps. Since we already get max stacks rapidly, there's no need to add casting speed. The stat on the staff itself is a couple percentage points. It has no substantial practical effect and you really would not notice it. |

You must use 2 staffs, one for maps and another for Bosses. The map staff dont need cast speed, since we use CwC and has a cast speed based on the gem level. The boss staff must have 12% cast speed, since you cast Icestorm manually and want to be stacked faster possible, because bosses are not static so u must move and start re cast at new location and reach 5 stacks fast. " It's important for tanking enemies that do a lot of dps. Read the Mana Sustain section.
New video: Simulacrum 29-30
I haven't bothered with Simulacrum in the recent leagues because it takes sooo long to finish and the rewards are kinda meh. And it was made significantly harder when the rare/magic mods were revamped. Now the trash is more dangerous than the bosses. Waves 1-20 are still trivial. But the difficulty of waves 21-30 can vary wildly depending on the mods you get and random rares and magic packs. I typically start cycloning around the trash to see how nasty it gets. If it's something bad then I kite them into one part of the arena, Frostblink away, switch to the single target staff and pull and kill them in small groups. If it's manageable then I mow them down until there are only the tankiest ones left, then finish them off with single target. The bosses are the same as before. They are easier than ever for the current version of the build. You just want to split them from the nasty trash. Remember the Kosis trick: when he makes a bubble and jumps into it to explode it - jump there with him to avoid the damage.
why use ball of lightning ?

" Ball lightning applies small hits over a wide area and travels across the screen. It will usually hit every mob in the whole screen. It's a very efficient way of passively applying curses via Hextouch. |

" The high end version doesn't take the recoup mastery (it takes one mana mastery node instead of two). The unreserved mana is about 200. Does it need adjustment for certain situations?
" The high-end version has a mod on Watcher's Eye, which replaces the Mastery. The natural mana regen of the high-end is 123.7/s while the cost of hard-casting the spell at max speed is 104.92/s. You need mana recoup just to make sure you always have mana available for Immortal Call. You can get by without any mana recoup once you're advanced enough into the build. |
