[3.25] Ice Dancing Queen - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything
Well, thanks to this build's tankiness, for the first time ever in several thousand play hours I've hit level 100. Thanks to Kelvynn for the build.
Barring a mirror drop I think I'm done with gearing, as any real upgrade starts at like 100 div (other than Forbidden Flame/Flesh and Rational Doctrine, both of which decrease Int quite a bit and so I'm not sure they'll help much without getting the helical ring for more Int). I'm open to suggestions though. https://poe.ninja/builds/settlers/character/Kirian42/IceDancerKirian
" Don't knock the damage boost you get from all the crit buffs of the Ambush & Assassinate jewels, even if you lose some Int/ES. There are knock-on effects, too. Getting Culling Strike from A&A lets you drop the Culling Strike Support gem from your body armor and move in the Frost Bomb you currently have in your other CwDT setup.. At that point, you could then move your Frostblink into the now empty blue socket that Frost Bomb vacated and socket in an Enlightenment for your auras, freeing up mana. Normally, this build runs the "-X mana cost of [channeling/non-channeling] skills" crafts on the rings, but since we're taking advantage of mirrored/multiplied rings this league, those aren't an option unless you make your own and risk a bunch of expensive bricks. That would help eliminate your reliance on Vaal Clarity to get you out of mana jams. You're missing a bunch of other cheap-ish pieces that add up, too. A Zealotry/Clarity Watcher's Eye is a handful of divs and is both a damage boost and provides additional mana relief. One of your cluster jewels is missing Blanketed Snow, which is another damage boost. If you really need the extra resistances from that second jewel, there are CttC/BS clusters on the market that also have +X% to all res, and you look like you have enough spare resistance to afford the loss of Prismatic Heart from your existing one. Natural Affinity is a 20% chance for double damage and 10% reduction to damage taken while standing still and facetanking a boss. Fitting Aspect of the Spider somewhere into your gear is both an offensive and defensive boost. Your flask enchants/mods are a bit strange, too. About the only thing that should be able to kill you is a rare or a unique, so getting extra block chance from your Rumi's only when you block is going to trigger it a lot when you don't really need it, and is going to delay it when you do need it by requiring you to get smacked once first. Also not sure why you're running Overflowing Chalice. We already get Concentrated Ground for rares/bosses from Zealotry. That 10% chance from Zealotry may not sound like much, but we hit a LOT, and we do enough damage while mapping that normal/magic mobs melt just fine without Consecrated Ground. Once you feel you're tanky enough, you can also revisit the Lab to respec Heartstopper into One Step Ahead.
" I have one minor thing to add: With Corrupted blood immunity from the base jewel, you may try to get increased crit from the flask instead of immunity to bleeding. Use Soul of Ralakesh from the Pantheon for the maps with Vulnerability or Monster can impale on hit mods. Combined with leeching it should be enough to sustain you, and you will benefit from the higher critical chance.
Finally I did it:
Not perfect, but not far from it. And now have a look at this pile of shame: I am trying to sell the first one of those currently for 30div. Vendor it, split an sell could give more Divs, but will it? What do you think?
" Do you have suggestions for supports for Frostblink? " Actually, Vaal Clarity is just a holdover from leveling, I haven't used it since like Lv 50. " I was able to fit most of those and so far mapping is pretty smooth so far, though one T17 just nailed me, not sure what it was (possibly -20 max resist) " Is the resist pen from Wise Oak better than the 40% damage from Overflowing Chalice? I was ignoring Wise Oak due to not likely being able to get resists balanced. " You know you don't have to go to the Lab to do this, right? Just spend the 5 Regrets per point. I had forgotten this one, though.
" Endgame, I usually just run Frostblink unsupported/unlinked in whichever of my 4-socket gear that has my all-red, 3-link CwDT setup. Although some people put Frostblink in their chest so they can manually Blink the two curses onto a boss via Hextouch instead of waiting for CwDT to do it. But I currently have a Level 1 Frost Bomb in my chest instead, so that my 6-link CwDT can cast that for the cold exposure and reduction of enemy life region. I see that instead, you have deleted one of your CwDTs, moved Cold Snap into your defensive CwDT, and are supporting your Frostblink with the remainder of the supports typically linked to Cold Snap. Not sure how smooth that's going to be. Your defensive (all-red) CwDT is supposed to have a Level 20 CwDT so that it only fires when you're taking big hits, rather than wasting mana on Immortal Call all the time when you're only taking little plinks, like the Level 1 CwDT you have in there will do. " Yeah, that's a likely candidate. Taking 80% more elemental damage is no joke. " Not sure what 40% damage you're referring to. Consecrated Ground is life region (useless) and curse reduction (useful). We already get Consecrated Ground from Zealotry. But it's really just a bonus side effect, since we primarily run Zealotry (since the Hatred nerf) for the extra spell crit chance and spell damage. I see you've already switched to Wise Oak, but that you've also put the "when hitting a rare or unique" activation enchant on your Diamond and Corundum flasks, too. Those you actually want to trigger when full, so that you have 100% uptime on them while mapping. The extra crit chance, curse mitigation, and stun reduction are useful while mowing through trash mobs. And, yes, even unbalanced Wise Oak is useful for the penetration, as long as your Cold resist is your highest. " I... did not. Huh. Learn something new every day. Thanks.
" That ring is sick! Congrats on finally getting it!
Thanks for the thoughts. I completely missed that the one CWDT is supposed to go up to L20 somehow. Is the Immortal Call also supposed to go to a higher level? It's 6 for some reason in the L100 POB, I guess possibily due to the STR requirement.

Just finished making something close to this guide's build. It's tanky - can't argue but the damage feels like 5d budget starter. What am I doing wrong?

" Level 6 is a nice balance between amount of damage mitigated and the STR requirement and mana cost, yes. |
