It's time for GGG to take back reigns of trade for the sake of the game

Its sad to see what this game has become. GGG has taken a ton of hits the past couple yrs.

Rmt was expected, but not from the ppl who creates items

Meh, disagree. The mirror was never a carrot for me. It's too obscure. It's more of a lifetime achievement award that you stick in your stash for the luls of when it dropped. It's not really functional for most people. I would suspect everyone outside this extreme power trading niche community, that folks do the same thing from a nostalgia point of view, or simply sell it immediately. Aint no normal player using a mirror.

yes its a lfietime achievement, its a thing of legend, its a feeling that theres stuff in the game beyond what you have found or will probably ever find. this is a loot hunt game.

its not about using a mirror or keeping a mirror, youre talking about having a mirror, the mirror is not supposed to be something you have, that is not its primary function, its primary function is that you dont have it.

its like trying to say that the jackpot on the lottery only matters to the guy that wins it. euromillions 70mill euro jackpot, millions of people buy a ticket, but it only matters to the 2 people with the winning numbers and its irrelevant to everyone else? no man, the fact that jackpot exists is why all those people bought the ticket.

this game is looting game, its about hunting for items. if you dont have jackpot drops that fundamentally changes the appeal of hunting for items. you can kid yourself that you are not effected by carrots in this game, that chase items existing dont mean anything to you. but 99% of people are massively effected by the idea they can find something exciting if they realise it or not.

chase items have come and gone, soultaker, atziri gloves, voltaxic, shavs, an exalt drop was a hype for most people for a long time, thats gone now, squire was 350 big orbs, now its about 30, mageblood is worth less than half it was when it first came out. the mirror is the one ultimate chase item, the one actual you have won the lottery moment in this game that has maintained this mythic status for the entire 10 year history, the logo of the game is a mirror. the entire game is a casino, its a giant lottery and the mirror is the jackpot. jackpots dont exit for the winners, jackpots exist to legitimise the gamble for everyone. at this point the mirror is probably the most iconic item drop in the history of the genre, a genre built around the item drops.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

After a few thousand hours of never finding one, the allure has lost all its flavor. The desert is so dry my want for a mirror is parched. If one dropped, I would just stick it in my inventory and send it to standard to never be used again.

Honestly, with the rarity of somethings, they just lose their allure.

Its intended primary function. Seems like its not working the way GGG planned it would.

That's just factually incorrect. All currency is just a means to an end. If you want the mirror to use it, it's just a means to an end, and that's the intended use of a mirror. The "ultimate" chase item is the item you want to mirror, mirror is just a crutch to people who can't craft. If you can't mirror anything, it's useless.

Considering that what they usually plan goes directly against what they want which, is then deleted or reworked one league latter, i'd say not even they know what is intended anymore.

Statisticly speaking i think it's kind of obv that mageblood is the ultimate chase item right now.

A Mirror Orb seems to be more like a sightly more usefull Zod Rune, but what do i know, hehe...

im talking about item drops, when you play the game what u want is for something special to drop.

mageblood is worth half a mirror. a year from now itll be less than 1/4 of a mirror. mageblood has existed for about 5 minutes, a mirror has held its position for 10 years, shavs came, it went, headhunter came, it went, you can buy about 8 headhunters for a mirror now in league, in standard you can buy about 20 of them.

the reason the mirror is the ultimate chase item is because a mirror drop has been the most special drop in the game for 10 years regardless of what chase uniques have come along, enjoyed their moment of fame and then drifted away. mageblood is the most expensive unique to ever exist in the regular drop pool because for about a week it was worth a mirror.

Yeah but Headhunter is still big game for mapping. You can't compare it to the really old stuff, yet.

And for the majority of players that play a lot(more than me or more effecient, i dunno) Mageblood is undeniably the main goal for a league.

MB is the ultimate chase item right now. And Snorkle is still wrong. No other belt comes even close to MB, nor HH, even a perfect one. The only issue is availability, divination cards dilute its rarity while also being easily multiplicable with Harvest. If we didn't had div cards, MB, and HH for that matter, would still be the same price as a mirror.

And if you're in SSF, crafting a perfect item to mirror is redundant, mirror becomes useless. You're forced to craft the item yourself anyway, making mirror a curio with no value or use, a dead drop in which MB would not be.
