Seems the POB lists 8 gems for main Body Armor:

Raise Zombie
Summon Phantasm
Energy Leech
Chance to Poison
Meat Shield
Void Manipulation
Cruelty
Empower

Why are the last 2 listed? Should I prioritize those over the blue/green support gems listed previously?

Thanks awesomely for the build and tips! I'm having fun :)
Hey, Ramos!

Empower is a "drop-only" gem. It may never come across your path. So, in PoB, I gave you two options. You can plan on being ready for the Empower, if it ever drops or you trade for one, by equipping Cruelty. Sometimes, the luck just doesn't exist and 6-links are impossible to find. So, if you're in that state and your only 6-link is corrupted or something, you can plan for the Empower ahead of time by using Cruelty in the red socket.

Void Manipulation is stronger than Cruelty but weaker than Empower. But adding Void Manipulation makes your 6-link 2 green and 4 blue sockets, which is much tougher to achieve on an Armour/Energy Shield base. (We don't need that base, but we do have a mastery option that benefits from it.)

So the options are there for you depending on what's dropped for you and if you're trading or not.

Hi there, Wrecker. I love minion builds, and it's been a good long while since I played zombies, so I'm trying your defensive setup. :)

Obviously this leans more into defense so it won't be the fastest zoom-zoom build out there, even for minions, but what might you recommend as far as getting more clear speed? Would Raise Zombie of Slamming be advisable, or do you think we lose too much health on the zombies with that for them to be viable? Now that the default zombies lost their slam, I just feel like they're really slow. I was using SRS and Infernal Legion through the campaign to help with clear, but now I've gotten my ascendanceies I was thinking of sticking with the zombies.

Also, I've got the Stygian Ape and the Undying Evangelist, but what might you recommend for 3rd/4th specters?

Thanks!
Hey Caedis!

Ya! Slamming Zombies helps a lot with clear speed. So does Summon Skeletons. Replacing the Chaos Golem or Chance to Poison really helps to pick up the pace (especially if it's the Vaal version). Honestly, replacing Zombies in general with skeletons would improve your damage a ton, but that changes the playstyle away from what Zombies are. Obviously do that if you like, it just changes the playstyle.

Spectres...I hate. I ignore all the feeds that talk about sharing spectres or which tough-to-get spectres are out there. I stick to what's easy to find because spectres are a pain to babysit in this game. So there are likely way better picks than any suggestions I have. That being said, to actually answer your question, I really like the net-throwing guys from Act 10. They throw lots of nets which slow enemies down and they sometimes have the proximity bubble for protection. Adding more than one as a support style spectre is nice because, the more nets, the married. The reason I don't use them is because I can't tell the difference between their nets and the enemy nets. So they'd be my 3rd & 4th choice.

Hey Wrecker!

In the "Other Builds" section of the first post, you have a Reaper build "Version with Rupture, Block, Herald of Purity, and Dominating Blow". Is that a build you have tried out, or is it a theory craft?

Tsup, Celtic!

It's always a pleasure. Ya! I played with that build for quite a while! At first, it was surprisingly efficient, so I stuck with it for quite a while. I might have even stuck with it permanently but at the time I was really insistent on having Petrified Blood in my build (which is really strong with Minion leech) (HoP replaces PB in this build). Block also isn't my favourite layer of defence so I'd likely change things up for 3.26, if I was playing it.

If you opt not to go with Rupture, you can make the build a little more defensive than a little less circumstantial as well.

If you end up playing it, I'd be really curious to find out what you think of it.

Just a heads up, I've updated this thread with a revamped build (called Swappable Minions), in case you're planning on playing Path 1 for a while longer. Hopefully, it lasts you until Path 2 is out for free.

I plan on permanently moving on from Path 1 as soon Path 2's EA comes out next week.

To those who follow(ed) my builds & filters since 3.0 (or from any point since), I can't thank you enough! It's been such a pleasure being in this community with you. You make this SO much fun. Thank you!

I look forward to seeing you all on the other side, whether that's at some point during Early Access or once Path 2 is free. You're all wonderful and, again, thank you.

Heya!

I just wanted to ask if gems are listed in order of importance? Like, if we are leveling and only have access to a 4-link, should: brutality, cruelty, meat shield take priority over predator and phantasm if you have access to them?

Hey Paint!

The gem order doesn't matter. Sure, there are some supports that deal more damage than the other, but each support is quite unique on its own. So, while levelling, just use whatever the gear allows you to use. After that, just prioritize whichever unique aspect of the supports you prefer over the others. You won't be able to tell the difference in damage between each support even though there is a damage difference. Make sense?

Yeah that makes sense, thanks!

I also wanted to ask if running spectres is ok if you aren't using the reaper, and if you aren't which skill would you swap out? You mention having cravings for different minions and sometimes spectres allow you to do just that! I know you mention not liking them, but its fun for me to watch like the flying kitava demons fly around and slam the ground, or flame sentinels going ham etc. etc. I know they wont be that strong unless you tailor a gem setup specifically for the spectre in question, but I personally like having some spectre friends around nevertheless.

Totally, I haven't designed anything to keep spectres safe though. The best place would be instead of Culling Strike. But keep in mind, the Spectres will be Agressive.
