Infernalist Witch - Pure Minion League Start Guide

Seems like a great build, exactly what I was looking for. I'm in act 2 right now and it's starting to feel a lot better.

Any suggestions on pathing through the skill tree? And any changes as you've been playing, how is the build doing in maps?

My maxroll link have a suggested pathing for the skill tree and I am currently lvl 75 and everything has been smooth in all the maps except for breach. I haven't progress too far because I have been doing a lot of testing of mechanics

They do shock, and it spreads. Unless a recent update broke it.
I'm stuck with a lower minion-level scepter because more higher-level warriors increase total spirit use and turn all my other minions off. Anyone else have this issue?
Is a pure minion build still valid these days?
Honestly, it's quite all right.
But overall it's more lifestyle than meta build :)

I just like to run around and let my minions kill everything.

This build is quite decent, yeah. I’ve been running a pure-minion setup myself (Skeletal Storm Mages doing the heavy lifting), and I’ve ended up going in a slightly different direction: I basically stack minion damage like a maniac and treat their health bar as a polite suggestion.

Their HP pool is actually fine, and if they die, they die. I don’t babysit them – they respawn in a couple of seconds and in the meantime I just jog around like a very fragile tour guide. Most of my tree is pure minion damage, and now that I’m higher level I’ve sprinkled in some minion life and revive speed as well. Sitting at 92 at the moment and honestly not even sure what to pick next, just staring at the tree trying to find 8 more points worth caring about.

On the gear side, though, it’s not exactly a budget build. My Storm Mages are level 40 and all my other minion gems sit at 36 so their spirit reservation is as low as it gets (after 36–40 you don’t get any more reservation reduction). I’m also waiting for the league to end so I can drag some toys over to Standard – boots with 35% reservation reduction (currently stuck on 30%) and Amanamu’s Gaze for that sweet +40% movement speed.

My biggest criticism of the whole minion archetype right now is their complete lack of aggressiveness. Minions are dumb. They just waddle behind me like lost puppies, they don’t really decide to go hunt anything down on their own – they need me on the frontline to actually do something. And since I’m pretty squishy, that’s not exactly my dream job. If GGG cranked up minion aggression or attack range, or just gave us an actual “attack-move” style command, it would change things a lot.

Pure minion builds are fun, but they’re a different kind of brain. You’re not the one attacking, you’re the manager. You build everything around letting your little murder interns do all the work while you focus on staying alive and making questionable economic decisions on their gear.
