"Presence" default radius is too small and really needs a buff!

Another big problem is minions that exceed presence area and all the benefits gone lost. At least make minions to be restricted inside area of presence.

I mean... This post is older than the new presence modifiers and the presence radius nerf. I have a new post about how the default radius being nerfed from 6m down to 4m was a terrible mistake:

Older or not one is for sure. The presence radius was from the beginning a completely nothing.

Now is just a vision.
I'm playing lowlife huntress build and my current presence radius is 8.56m. More than enough.

66% From Scepter, 40% from talismans on gear, 70% on the tree, 75% from jewels. Total 251%, basic 4m minus 39% from corrupted Deepest Tower = 2.44m plus 251% = 8.56m. Without that helmet your presence radius would be even bigger!

To alter it??? With what passive points? Every single passive point is spend for a specific reason. Sory but no points left anymore. Maybe if Devs give us five or six more in ACT4. Who knows What's the future holds.


Thats the thing, they kinda overnerfed a lot of builds through the combination of many nerfs on all fronts. Minions is a good example. Yes they were strong and one shotting pinnacles should not be a thing, agreed. So they nerfed minion damage, life and their scaling with skill gems. That was already a huge hit to minion builds. But ok, I get it. Fine.
But then they go on to nerf area presence by 50% which is another huge nerf to minion builds. They go on to propose so called "solutions" to that by putting nodes on the tree that you can restore the old radius with. But getting these nodes means losing 5-6 valuable skill points for either ES, minion dmg or minion life/res, i.e. its still a significant nerf.
Next they go on to cripple the passive tree by removing what feels like 60% of the jewel slots. Builds that could run 8-12 jewels before now have trouble getting to 3. That is another huge nerf to all builds, including minions who now have trouble deciding between Grand Spectrum or minion damage jewels. Against the Darkness was also destroyed with a radius nerf and its best jewel slot is gone.
On top of all that we got a cd increase for Frost Mages Frost Bomb and Arsonists fire damage.
While the individual nerfs might be somewhat understandable, all of these things together (even after the ever so slight rebuff of minions for the campaign) result in minion builds feeling really 90% weaker now than during 0.1 which is a massive overkill. No matter your gear, endgame stays a slow slog, you can always die randomly everywhere, trials are never a safe farm, pinnacles and even regular T17-T18 map bosses are tediously slow. Feels completely unenjoyable. 20-25% nerf (i.e. just the damage and skill scaling stuff) would have been completely enough and they should have left the other stuff alone and see how it performs first. Maybe also buff the pinnacles a bit so they stand out.

That isn't how it's calculated. Your actual presence radius is 7.0654 meters.

The deepest tower is just subtracted from your increases so you have 212% increased presence AoE. Presence AoE also does not increase the radius of presence, it instead increases the total surface area of the circle.

From increasing your AoE by a total net gain of 212% you are only increasing the actual radius from 4m up to 7m. That is only 3m more radius from a massive amount of investment. For reference the top of you screen is about 8m from your character and the top corners are about 12m. Your build is barely reaching over halfway to the corners of your screen.

Even with massive build investment, enemies and allies are not reliably always in the radius. I see this as a major design flaw.
