Black Chambers crashing my game repeatedly

I've had this issue both times I've been to the end of Act 3 on my character: entering the Black Chambers and going a little ways in causes the game to lock up and then crash, and subsequently attempting to log into that character before the instance resets causes the game to crash before it's even done loading. Waiting for the instance to reset doesn't help much, either, because on subsequent attempts, there's a really high chance that the game will crash before I can touch the waypoint to escape. Nothing I've tried has definitely helped; turning down graphics settings, switching to Vulkan, restarting my computer, all of it led to more crashes. I don't know why I was eventually able to beat Act 3 Normal; one attempt let me through for some reason and I have no idea why. It was right after a patch, so I thought the issue had been fixed, but clearly not, as I am once again trapped in the Black Chambers with no recourse.

Obviously, GGG can't fix this crash on command, but I am desperate. I'm enjoying the game immensely and want to play more! Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else found a solution to this problem? Please help me!

Same issue on PS5, anytime going into voss fight it crashes

Same issue here, I'm able to stay in for a few minutes but it is extremely choppy and I've had zero issues running through anything else with the 13900 and 3080.

(EDIT) - I've done some searching and it looks like this is an issue others are experiencing. Their fix is to run the actual PoE client rather than the steam client so I'm installing that now. I will update here if that fixes it.

(FIXED) - Installing the standalone client and not running through steam fixed it. Utterly ridiculous.
