DEX - The Odd One Out
In some interview Jonathan mentioned they were not happy about the state of DEX. Here are my two cents.

STR = Body Power = 2 Life & 0 Mana
INT = Brain Power = 0 Life & 2 Mana DEX = Interplay of Body & Brain = 1 Life & 1 Mana To determine the stat DEX should provide by default let's first look at what is already associated with the three attributes (details omitted): ![]() I noticed a conspicuous lack of resource associated with DEX. Also everything else on the list has already been discussed by GGG as far as I am aware, so I want to try to fill that void. To inform my decision I took hints from traditional RPGs, which are based on the following logic (combinations omitted): - STR: Stronger individuals are usually bulkier and can take more punishment (see weight classes in combat sports). Represented the stereotypical warrior. - INT: Magic needs Mana to be cast, which is correlated to your mental power. Represented by someone on the frail side but wise. - DEX: Physiologically it is an expression of Coordination - the ability of your nerves (brain) to precisely and efficiently innervate muscles. Represented by rather wiry individuals with some wits. Thus resources are usually distributed like this: ![]() PoE2 already reflects this, but only in part: STR = Body Power = 2 Life & 0 Mana INT = Brain Power = 0 Life & 2 Mana Following this logic, it should be: DEX = Interplay of Body & Brain = 1 Life & 1 Mana I cannot express how much sense this makes to me. More thoughts: - In PoE2 STR & INT only provide their associated resource by default. Considering balance, logically DEX should do the same. - DEX now has at least some use in almost any build, same as STR & INT. - Letting DEX provide anything else (by default), that is already associated with it, is bound to result in something overpowered or underwhelming. - Coming up with an entirely new mechanic solely for DEX seems out of scope. - From my experience, DEX aligned classes feel a bit starved for resources. This might make them feel way better. - Simple concept that is easy to implement. Probably does not break anything except for Accuracy needing a slight re-balance. All in all it might sound a bit boring but in my opinion it is way better than accuracy. Thanks for reading. Последняя редакция: _Dinkleberg#5237. There's been good representations of Dex in the past for games with more stats.
Often games mix Dex and Agility and it's just accepted. Proper use of Dex: Increase weapon manipulation = Chance to Proc. Weapon Precision = Armor Pen or Crit capacity. Weapon Action Speed = Influences your ability to parry / block. 1 + 1 seems reasonable though one could also argue that STR is not durability and INT is not a representation of your Willpower which would be associated with casting capacity. In the end it would work. Just nitpicking it's already kinda wrong for the other stats. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

why did they remove damage and defensive attributes for these stats?

100% agree with this.
Also, evasion is worse than ES and armor, because while it reduces the amount of incoming attacks, every attack that hits you is still a 1-shot… |

" It's even worse. I have Wind Ward, 5% Converted and 20% Armor on 80% Evasion and my Ward drops constantly because there's some things you just can't evade for some reason. Also 0 Elemental Protection unlike ES which is very strong right now. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

Bumping this as I haven’t heard Jon/Mark acknowledging it yet.

+1
Base evasion from the stat is useless for classes who dont use evasion. At least when using STR or INT you get life or mana which isnt much, but its a tiny bonus compared to nothing https://poe2.ninja/profile/character/rjum7ks5jqfi/Ash-9143/Ash_the_vile
