Trade overhaul

This has always been an issue in PoE. I'm dying to get a proper auction house in game. Just add a gold fee for posting/buying an item and it'll be many times better than the current in-person trading. Especially for lower value items. I really don't mind doing the long trade for a meaningful 1div item. I don't even mind it for 10 ex. But I've already scrapped so many 1ex items it feels bad. I'd honestly be happy to sell them for 3 regal shards instead of 2 I'd get from a vendor. But not in person. It's annoying.

In fact, I suspect the trade friction leads to some meaningful inflation. At league start, a great item costs 10 ex. So everyone wants to earn 10 ex to get the upgrade, so they sell mediocre items for 1-2 ex.
But then rarer items show up, costing 20ex or up to 1 div, so people start selling mediocre items for more to earn that upgrade, because they don't want to go through trade 40+ times to get an upgrade.
With auction house it would just passively generate currency from the items you place on there, so it doesn't matter how expensive they are. In fact it would be better to make them cheaper, just so they sell more quickly. Prices on low-mid tier items would go down, and it wouldn't matter that you need to sell 100 of them to get a high tier upgrade.

And if you want to keep player hideout interaction, maybe you could have it so the buyer needs to be in the seller's hideout to buy an item. I don't think people mind going somewhere to buy an upgrade, they just don't want to be there to sell stuff for 1ex every 10 minutes.
Perhaps your own npc vendor that would have a standard sell screen, but the currency would go into a bank that the seller can just take out.
I can easily understand why GGG dont put a marketplace in PoE.

For me, as a SSF player, I found the pace of the game really good. As during the campaign and now in end game, I can feel my character being stronger every few hours played, by looting and crafting better gear, improving my gems,...

Having a marketplace would totally break this pace, that its already doing it for players who buy and sell stuff.
And I can totally understand devs want to keep controlling the pace of their own game.

Path of Exile 2 need a trade overhaul.

I have been playing for 200 hours and have 3 characters, one of which is level 88 with cracked gear. I one shot everything on maxed maps. And kill bosses in up to 5 second.

Here is the perfect example for me. Do you still have fun playing this character ? I doubt about it cause he is only lvl 88... You just reach the end of the game so whats next ?

After 225h, I have 3 characters aswell, the best one is lvl 92, able to do some T15 maps, 1 citadell made, still content to do, stuff to improve (only 1 greater jewellers orb dropped),...

I totally understand that players want a way to speed up way their characters improved, but its pretty hard doing it and not trivialized gameplay !!!

I am not being able to trade ANYTHING because of inflation...

I see one wand for 1 div and 10s later it goes resell for 50 div...

We need to have some defence to RMT... because there is the only explanation for the inflation we now have.

Question : how an auction house could fix this problem of inflation ?
Does GGG need to intervene in auction house about prices ?
+1 on better trade.

Just make traded items soulbound, that fixes scalpers, bots and inflation. Market will not become crazy flooded either.

Keep the system where you have to use premium stash tabs to actually list the items, will keep the incentive to sell stash tabs in the shop.

OR, another variant to solve the same issue, skip trading all together and make the game a full SSF-game and give us better tools to craft/find the items we want, we could keep the currency exchance (could even be fixed prices, just so we can convert our orbs for crafting purpose).

For me, ARPG = single player game anyway, I don't care what other people do or don't, I just wanna kill monsters, level up, gear up and have fun trying to create builds, how I obtain the gear is not super important but I feel like it would be more fun to actually get the items to drop and/or craft them myself rather than constantly spamming other people in chat. (Or just instantly buy the exact item that my budget allows, slowly progressing to better items as my wealth increases over time, if traded items are soulbound you would think twice to spend your hard earned currency on a slight upgrade, might be better to save for a bigger upgrade for example)

Yep and just balance it like Last Epoch does, you basically have to earn xp by killing mobs to be able to trade to cut out many RMT's and price fixers and stuff.
They have such a good system, it's wild you have trading but are so behind with your system.

And yes. There r several problems:

If u make the selling automatic... Yes, u will eliminate price fixers, but u will have to deal with bots wich will have predefined orders that will always get the item u are looking for as soon as it get posted to sell it for the price them want the item to be, to get profitt, regulating and manipulating the market in the process...

Against Bots or all others who just want to flip the market.

2 Options to solve this:

A: You can't sell an item you bought from the auction house

B: You can't sell an item for 7 days, you bought from the auction house

Both options would be a good solution for item flippers.

And the real player who used the Auction House for own progress has no downside to it, and with option B this Person can sell these items after a week of fun with it or later.

Conclusion: AH with Instant Buyout is mandatory, and GGG just have to make adjustments against flippers and Bots.

Yeah Might work.
Also the intended gold to be added to any transaction would set the limit of the transactions u can make.
However, if u do that u encourage even more to sell items instead of disenchanting them...

Hmm.

I dnt understand why people is so rude and demanding...

Is like when someone give u a hand and u take the whole arm.
Most game developers dont even get down to players to ask for anything...

Instead of being that rude with the devs who are just people working, why dont u try suggesting things instead...? and also saying please.

It doesent hurt, belive me.

Have the developers responded or hinted any trade overhaul? I got so tried of the current trading system and left to play other games for couple months. I am waiting for the trade system to dramatically improved before I return.
