Why dedicate my time if I can lose all my XP with a death penalty?
" Please stop poisoning the potential of this game with your poe1 mindset. It does not have to mean any of those things, those are your personal fetishes. You go play another game which is called poe1. Let us grind our xp, possibly we will quit until next league, when we reach max level or the soft xp cap where progress slows to a crawl. Alternatively we will rage quit after we lose xp on death. I don't see how the latter is better for the game. |

" Again? what are you talking about? Im playing poe2. There was xp penalties in poe1 and it is in poe2. [Removed by Support] Последняя редакция: Vash_GGG#0000. Время: 8 янв. 2025 г., 14:32:32

I don't mind it, game just needs better balancing. Something these developers know almost nothing about.

" [Removed by Support] Exp loss doesn't make the game harder, removing it doesn't make it easier... Adding a checkbox to opt-in to race to 100/exp loss is the equivalent of SSF & Hardcore (checkboxes). If you want to sweat you can sweat boy, this is the feedback forum and I'm looking at it from a longevity of the game & player base increase perspective. Unless you're happy with GGG/POE2 having the exact same player base or a less than 1% increase? Clearly you enjoy the game, wouldn't you want to see more people play it, enjoy it and it become the best and biggest game globally? I know I do, this game & GGG deserve the success levels of WOW's first half decade. [Removed by Support] There's a balance, which is what the whole discussion is about. You have POE1 [Removed by Support], not sure why you want POE2 with it's potential for mass adoption to cut out most of the players globally for some lame sweaty reasons. The potential for this to become to game of the decade is in reach. Why waste it by making the players and their potential revenue feel bad over 10% exp... lol Последняя редакция: Jacob_GGG#0000. "[/quote] Infinite portals? Checkpoints for bosses. A new boss should require multiple deaths to overcome: first few to learn the mechanics, then a handful more to figure out how to win, then finally executing everything correctly. And since they want more than 200 bosses for the full game, that's a whole lot of dying to do. One attempt per boss means you'll never learn any of them. Enemy Damage reduced? Where does this even come from... Always drop for your class? No - but I do think it could be weighted in solo/self found. Campaign skip? Yes, after you've gone though it once. Ascendency Points - this is exactly the type of content I want more of (though a lot of it needs to be balanced). Challenges that must be overcome. And no, those changes wouldn't make the game easier. Just less tedious. Challenge is what you face before you die. Punishments happen after. Punishments do not make a game more challenging. " How so? Majority of those bosses are introduced during the campaign where you get Checkpoints. |
|
" What campaign are you playing that has over a hundred bosses? Also: the bosses in maps are supposed to have different mechanics than they did during the campaign. |
|
" except...not really. HC exists for a reason. Death is not a given EVER, nor should it be. If you die a few times to every boss.....that's an indicator of a skill issue. Or a build issue. Or both. In fact, if a boss forces (or tends to force) death on everyone, that means that there is a fundamental problem with the boss, literally the opposite of what you stated here. GGG please make an experiment, do a checkbox (no default, so player has to choose explicitly) for "race/xp loss" at least in EA, and decide from there.
I would guess that it is not a hard problem to implement technicaly, but it fragments playerbase into multiple chunks which might not be desirable in final release. |
