"Crafting" endgame minion scepter

=> it's impossible in ssf.
Yet in trade where thousands of players drop thousands of 82ilvl scwepters - it's possible to get few for 500+ divines.

I totally skip extras as hunting for any other affixes as specific auras/attributes or double spirit+mana.

Crafting sux, as there no +minion or +spirit essenses/omens/anything.
For amulets it's even more worse.

(tip for mages: maigc amulet with +castspeed and +spelldamage can be essensed +caster modifier for 100% +all spells. Lucky guys those sparkmages)


Absolute feels. Give or take close to 10mil gambled. Exactly 1 scepter was salvagable(read bad, but at least playable) No idea why minion builds need to be shackled so absurdly. Mid tier scepter with 4 reasonable mods are like 20divs+

Not mirror tier, not best. It has budget stats and yet costs more then rare uniques.
Thank you for this post, We need more attention on stuff like this... Please don't leave the game in this state GGG, even if you don't want to add full blown "crafting" to the game in the sense that some people seem offended when you call it "crafting" instead of "Gambling" at LEAST please add the ability to make the odds better in our favor during this "Gamble"

Or screw it, just add decent crafting!!


People say all the time "Most arpgs don't have crafting!" Well for 1 thats just un-true

But secondly, PoE2 GGG crew wants to be different and stick out from the competition, right???? THEN ADD SOME GOOD CRAFTING!!

P.S , I'm currently on the hunt for a decent version of the exact +5 minion staff that OP Suggests , and just count myself lucky that I am a trade league player and not a masochist SSF player.
is it still possible to craft +5 rattling scepter in standard server? i didn't saw that option in craft of exile.
Crafting a +5 minion scepter with decent spirit is - like you say - close to impossible. I hate the crafting system in Poe/Poe2 so much. I wish they would re-invent it and make it into something like Last Epoc.

That said - what is even more frustrating, is that no matter what ultra boss, ultra juiced map you are completing. You will not be able to EVER - even by sheer luck - find a +5 minion scepter with decent spirit. An THAT takes all the excitement out of the whole loot system for me.

The only loot i pick up - is stuff I know I can sell - in order to visit the marketplace for a +5 scepter.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the game - its actually my very favorite of the genre. But by gods - i hate that the VERY ONLY WAY to get godly gear - is by crafting.

Sure there are a few unique items that matters in the build that drops. But most pieces on your char are yellow items [Removed by Support]

I think the crux of the issue is really what is considered mid game and end game.

To me, it seems like items with 5 good mods in T2/T3 and one lackluster/ineffective mod are considered mid game.

And items with the most important mods at T1 and no useless/ineffective mods are considered end game.

But.. There isn't much more to have after that. You can start doing corruption or get exceptional quality stuff. For many items corruption can be very good. Exceptional quality is not that significant. Extra socket can be nice but depends on the item and build just how useful it really is.

Point here being. Perhaps it's actually too easy to end up with items that are already very good and not all that far off from maxed.

The maxed items need to be very hard to get, because chasing them is part of the charm of PoE1 and PoE2 for the small minority of the most dedicated players; and those dedicated players are just as important to PoE as the average player is.

I think what would be needed is for more crafting tools and possibilities for optimizing the items with one or zero T1 mods further before you feel like the next real progression is from maximizing the amount of T1 mods on your item.

The problem now is that technically you could of course corrupt those second tier items or you could craft second tier exceptional bases, and well corrupting is kinda viable; but exceptional bases are so rare that they aren't worth using to anything but T1 filled stuff. Essentially - there's too little to add or RNG on second tier items to make them stronger, before you just need to move to T1 based items.

The only way to get a +5 minion level sceptre is to sanctify a +4 so the data you are looking at is probably outdated. You can get +4 from ilvl78+.


Edit: Just realized that OP was from Jan 2025, not Jan 2026...
