The Death Penalty and XP Gains in PoE 2 my feedback after 400+hrs

Please get rid of the awful death penalty. it just makes me to not want to play the game any more. All that hard work for nothing if you die. And you die cause there is lag ,freezes and bugs . It's totally awful.How a game in year 2025 even has it !!!

Hi it's me. I left the game nearly a month ago due to the egregious death penalty. Has GGG commented at all about it? I'd love to come back to the game but I just can't see myself rejoining until they roll out the changes that are desperately asked for and needed. Thanks

I left the game for a number of reasons, but there's a really simple death penalty fix (except if you only have 1 map attempt). Do it like many other ARPG's have done it, drop your corpse and if you can get back and collect it, you get 90% of the XP back. Simple.

No comment from them other than next patch ETA is around late March/early April. I suggest to check patch notes around then and if no change by that point - forget about this game forever.

Appreciate the response. I will wait. Not holding out hope though. This game has been ideologically captured by toxicity which I am sure expands to the actual developers themselves.

Yeah its actually worse now because you get multiple attempts on maps. So you die then get baited to try again and lose more xp.

Can not see the issue with removing the stupid death penalty it’s a mechanic to make people quit, makes no odds if a player is lvl 80 plus or 100 to the game a lvl 80 can farm the same as a lvl 100 the only difference is this will keep people playing and not quitting for a host of reasons ie insta deaths or a death then spawn at a check point that you died at to insta die again and again now one map can possibly take up to 50% off xp.
Having a death penalty does not make the game harder or longevity it just causes people to move on and not support said game.
People play games for self satisfaction for a number of reasons, no satisfaction in pointless deaths ie as some listed above.
All this BS poe1 has it and the devs won’t change etc guess what something has to change other wise you are left with a game that dies and the reason for devs to make sequels or the next game is to make money
