Map affixes should be reworked
Hi, I believe that the way map affixes work in PoE 2 should be changed, because suffixes are too punishing while lacking rewards.
Current state: Rolling suffixes is quite pointless, because they only make maps harder while giving us "increased Waystones found in Area" which we already oversustain. This leads to a situation where running T15 maps with 50% affix effect is literally easier than running T12~T14 maps with 0% affix effect but with 2–3 suffixes. Results of this: This means we literally stop progressing after hitting T15 maps. Of course, we can add some Delirium layers or run T18 maps effectively, but this doesn't change the fact that running maps with rippy suffixes is "pointless". It's better to do 2 maps with 0~1 suffix (which probably doesn't affect our build) than to do 1 map with 3 suffixes. I think it has a negative impact on the current meta, because after a certain point, no one needs to build more defenses. Instead, we only build more dmg / AoE to run maps faster, but the content of the maps remains as hard as it was. This leads to less build diversity - top mapping builds are spark and bow builds that offscreen everything, usually with non-existent defenses. How to fix this: (This solution isn't perfect, but it's the best I could think of) Make suffixes matter more by: 1. Nerf all prefixes by 15%–25%. 2. Suffixes shouldn't affect increased Waystones found in Area but rather: • increased Pack size • increased Quantity of Items found in this Area • increased number of Monster Packs (one or many) - Of course, it should impact 10x less than the current stat (e.g., from 700% increased Waystones to 70% pack size—or even less). The design from PoE 1 is almost perfect. 3. Balance some of the suffixes:

• (31–35)% increased Monster Cast Speed (from 3 stat mod) → (31–35)% increased non unique Monster Cast Speed** • Monsters have (360–400)% increased Critical Hit Chance → Non unique monsters have (360–400)% increased Critical Hit Chance +(41–45)% to Monster Critical Damage Bonus → +(41–45)% to non unique monster Critical Damage Bonus** • +50% Monster Elemental Resistances → +(35–45)% Monster Elemental Resistances + cap it on 75% (it's +100% hp if you have ele dmg)* • Monster Damage Penetrates 25% Elemental Resistances → Monster Damage Penetrates (10-15)% Elemental Resistances (it's literally +100% dmg, or +250% if you have 90% resistance cap) • Players gain 50% reduced Flask Charges → Players have 100% more Flask Charges used* • Players have 60% less Recovery Rate of Life and Energy Shield → Players have 150% slower Recovery Rate of Life and Energy Shield* • Monsters fire 2 additional Projectiles → Monsters have 50% chance to fire additional Projectiles (it's broken with some of the projectiles) • 75% less effect of Curses on Monsters → 75% reduced effect of Curses on Monsters (can be mitigated on curse builds bu stacking curse effect)* *Mod scale exponentially with "map modifier effect," making them utterly broken after hitting a specific number. **Mod is broken on bosses. 4. Prefixes could also have some static negative effect (like current suffixes increased Waystones found in Area but in reverse) - e.g. 5% more monster HP for each prefix map modifier. Bump, feels pointless juicing maps after they have 1-2 good suffixes. Why make it harder only for increased chance for a waystone to drop ?

Completely agree. Make it so prefixes give content (Chests, Pack size, Shrines, etc.) and suffixes give difficulty combined with increased quant/rarity. Waystone drop rate is a bad joke for how nasty it makes maps. Hell I even did a lvl 80 map boss with 996% waystone drop rate and still only got a single T13 so I question if too high can bug drops out.

" No, with the exception of waystone drop rate. In prefixes, you get affixes affecting rewards, like more rares, more quantity, more rarity, more magic monsters, more pack size, more gold, more experience, etc. In suffixes, you get affixes that power up monsters or weaken the player, like monsters gain ailment thresholds, monsters gain crit rate and crit damage, monsters are evasive, etc. So there is never any reason to purposefully want any suffixes on waystones. The only reason we get them is because it's random and we can't decide what we get. I think a simple band-aid fix for now would be to make each suffix also enhance all prefixes by 10%. In general I think juicing for enemy density is bad for the game since it chokes the meta into being "oops all blaster".
