Minions

Minions Attack walls instead of threats. When you have lots of enemies putting up walls that's all your minions attack and not the actual things that are trying to end you. Pretty stupid in my opinion.

I mean, they're Minions. Blindly following orders is kind of their thing.

Real talk though, I read a lot of posts on here about how the game "lacks build diversity" and sometimes I think people think that just means "different ways of murdering everything."

Having certain monsters and modifiers that are more challenging for your build makes the game interesting; some people despise Proximal Tangibility and others barely notice it. Mana Siphon is meaningless for some people, but for my MoM caster in 0.1 it was one of the deadliest mods in the game. Elemental or Chaos Resistance can go unnoticed by some builds and completely shut down others.

I feel like walls being a pain in the ass for Minion builds is fine. Make a plan and deal with it.

Idk man, the point about different monster mods constituting a different level of challenge to different builds is well taken, but I'm not really sure "walls" should be included in something like that. Minions being dumb as a sack of bricks is a QoL issue that should be fixed, not something in need to be played around. That's like raising the level of difficulty by disabling controls for a sec every 30 seconds or so and calling that a "challenge".

Oh, it is.

And it's not like GGG has to fully reprogram the minion AI to get rid of this problem or something. The simple "Convocation" spell would help massively, but GGG doesn't want to put it in the game for whatever reason.
Hell, even without the "Life Regen" from "Convocation", ppl would like it in the game for better minion control.

Imagine you fight a boss with massive AoE damage as any non-minion build.
If you dodge the AoE - you are fine. You can deal damage again yadda yadda.

Do the same on a minion build, and you see the massive flaw.
If you dodge the AoE - YOU are fine, and only you. Your minions probably get nuked, and now you are "naked" without an important part of your defence AND offence, until they revive again.
Having "Convocation" to teleport them to your position to "dodge" the AoE with YOUR positioning would be so good, especially gameplay-wise.

If you dodge - your minions "dodge", if you don't - they don't.

Use the minion command key bind.

Either use it to tell your minions to attack something (for example, not a wall) or use it to shift your minions out of that bosses Aoe.

If it works for me, it can work for you baby!

I'm a L92 Lich with 15 odd skellies, it works a treat.

Try using the tools at your disposal.

Yep. Because all minions have the same movement speed, to make it work in all scenarios...

But hey, probably just a skill issue. Wouldn't mind if you show us how you command minions in an Arbiter fight.

Oh so you're just whinging about a specific boss 99% of players never see. Gotcha.
For the time being, they could add a hold-down key to make minions move in to the spot you want them to WITHOUT stopping (i know theres this minion move key, which doesnt work as intended), and on release of the button they are back to automated AI ways.
