Cannot level up anymore due to the experience penalty, Game UN-INSTALLED with Success!

The reason you can't level up anymore is not because of the xp penalty, its because you die to much..
Try this: Omen of Amelioration
For sure will help you. Is not expensive. Buy 2-3 pieces and you are happy....

If you keep dying and losing XP, then you are doing content that is too difficult for your current skill level and/or build.

If they remove the XP loss, then everyone would be able to max out their character's level, which defeats the purpose of this type of game.

Well, I can do all content easy, and I am down for the grind. But in the current state of the game it is not feasible to get to 100 in given period of time with any healthy amount of playtime. The purpose of this game is to be played. The amnount of skillpoints is limited. Of course you want to max out these first. Easiest power gain in every arpg. No luck needed, no randomness involved...just pure time investment. In poe2 it feels like wasted time. And every setback drives me more to the point realizing that this game is designed to be quit at lv97. Which is just bad design. Another purpose of these type of games is to play more than one character. For me that gets defeated like it is. It is a seasonal game. For a non seasonal game I would even say it is way to easy to max out the character now. But it is not. And even then the ratio of powerlevel to character progression lv'whise is way off..
The devs don't value our time tbh, there needs to be a balance with end game damage and the currency loss per gain with just upgrading your maps is negligible. Not to mention everything else its all to push us to trade so they get traffic to their website.

Totally agree. Also, if they want people to participate in seasons and try other characters, they're lost or are losing players who have now realized that they will never be able to enjoy their character at its best due to all the thing you mentioned. Only diehard fans of GGG's brand of "challenge" will support this game over the long term.

I certainly won't. After 800 hours of playing this on Steam and about a third of that was wasted time due to all the punishments in-game, there are better games in my backlog that respect my time and effort.

The purpose of this game is to be played. To the end. If a player cannot do that, they stop playing game. And in the case of GGG, that means one less potential customer to buy their overpriced cosmetics. That is not what they want.

What do you mean "to the end?"
POE doesn't really have an end.
Even if you reach level 100 it's still not the end.
The game only ends when you stop having fun. That's the beauty of it.

Exactly. The fun stops when you realize after 500h of grind that it will take another 500 just to max out something you have already planned to use. Then you realize it will not work out during season. The only solution would be to quit your job and abandon family and friends. You also realize you never will own a lv100 character during live season. What is the point of having skillpoints left? Once your character is out of season you will most likly never touch it again. With the trading system and the natural inflatiopn with these type of trading systems it does not make any sense to gate power behind that big of a time investment. The reason to make arpg's seasonal if trading is involved, is mostly because you want an eco reset. Even for solo self found it doesnt make any sense. You will always find better gear but the time to get to 100 will be the same. I really tried to find a perspective in which the current system makes any sense. But beside catering to a very minority of ranked player it doesnt.
Seems like a lot of people in this thread have not played Diablo 2, which is the inspiration for the Path of Exile series.

You don't need to quit your job + life to get to level 100. All you have to do is not die as often. If you die more than you gain XP, then you are doing content that is too difficult for you, or you need to upgrade/tweak your build.

If the game was made for every single player to get to level 100, then they would have made the game easier. All the content in the game can be done without getting your character to level 100.
Let's work together to make this world a better place :)
if there was no xp loss i bet 90% of xp loss complainer would not reach lvl 100 anyway, They would just start complaining at how long the grind is and would say stuff like "the xp needed is to much GGG is dumb, i quit."
