Death Penalty is too excessive

The death penalty is really bad. Too many bad ideas in this game. Trial are the worst content I've ever seen on an ARPG - mind boggling bad.

XP loss on death like it's freakin' 1998 or some crap. hard pass. Why are you making playing the game a bad experience on purpose.

There are other more modern ways to show off how skilled you are in the game, like achievement titles and cosmetics behind skill-gated content, rather than how much time you spend in the basement.

Well glass cannon builds are the ones that can clear content, as the game is looping around to being more PoE1. All of the arguments I've seen against getting rid of the exp loss on death are just silly as they counter their own arguments, such as they don't want people to fail upwards but at the same time that the extra levels don't give any real power. There are other things that can be leaderboard worthy too, not just level. Speed of gaining that level is also something that could be a leaderboard, since the people who die would for sure take longer to get to that point too. Also, if people are just being obnoxious either tell them they are with your free speech or ignore them, this isn't a schoolyard playground.
GGG should remove XP Penalty and create an elite league to separate the bad and good players so that all players will progress to level 100.

I'm losing appetite playing this game and eventually leave.

The death penalty mechanism in games is truly absurd.
Each time you perish, your experience is deducted by 10%. Should you perish five times while attempting to defeat the same boss, your experience would have been reduced by a whopping 50%. What an idiotic design.
i think its pretty clear from recent interview and the state of some of the issues in the patch that the devs dont play the game as we do or barely test it

the penalties need to be changed and a compromise found.
how are all the disconnects and crashes affecting this issue? do you lose the xp?

those issues alone are reason enough to lessen the impact of an archaic system that doesnt have a place in a modern always online game.

If you're not using Omen of Amelioration at that level then of course you will get stuck. This will 100% solve the exp penalty issue as 2.5% is easily obtainable at those levels.

Get one, try not to die anyway, run a lot of ritual so you can drop another one for insurance and get yourself a nice omen loop going. Plus points if u don't die u can sell it when u level up or save it until you're over 10% xp

The game is giving you tools to deal with this problem and they even buffed omens for that very same reason, try using them before assessing if something needs to be changed.

well...

it means, that toon dont have enough gear and resources to deal with damage. you guys do not consider the difference of levels, and gear while you make comments like that.

the main problem in this game, is that bad poor working terrible passive tree.. full of stun stun stun stun... no life points, not apropriate slots for good jewels. player are facing hard times because of trash crafting, jewels with bow and spear bounos...

i have necro level 94, java level 86, and deadeye level 88. am doing well in game, but i can do better if not this very bad passive tree. Since i started, i just crafted 2 good amulets rolls, with skills spirit and all res.. the game mechanics do not provoide enough, to keep the toon alive.

leveling is a waste, bad, evil.
