Auction House when?

Having an auction house (along with better crafting) would probably help me come back to POE 2.

An outside website is unacceptable in a game on consoles. Does anyone know if Sony has any issues with it?

In both XBox and PS distros for PoE1, there is an in-game Auction house. Though, I think that is more due to unifying console versions for other markets as well as there is no cross-platform with PC play. That means no big pool of lootsellers and bots to fix reward and power-progression problems.. That does mean that pricefixing is rampant on consoles, though.

However, with consoles releasing "sign in with your console account" they' embraced the new wealth of exposure and data they get...

Keep in mind that true crossplatform play initiatives are relatively new. A few years ago, console mfrs were much more wary of allowing that. That was the original environment POE1 and its console version grew up in.

AFAIK, both console demand cash transaction processing control when their client/hardware is being used and standard security for multiplayer play and.. that's about it as far as players would be concerned.

Today, in the current market, there isn't any real or strategic barrier to a unified in-game Auction House for PoE2.

There currently isn't one because GGG doesn't want Western market players to have one. Rest assured, other market distros will get one on all supported platforms for PoE2's Release because it must have one to be competitive in those markets.

Having to wait 10-20 minute just to buy an upgrade item is realy frustrating, realy hope insta buy comes soon

i was pretty firmly against this for a while agreeing with ggg that their should be some friction to discourage it from being solely a trade based game. However with no options to craft and not enough currency to go crazy on RNG slams, we need an auction house. Also the level of scams is beyond anything ive ever seen in POE 1, probably because there are a ton of new players, and way more players than ever before.
ty for listening ggg

a cold leafless branch.

I have a question for the person you "were" when holding to those beliefs before they have been confronted with the current disaster that PoE2 is communicating to us with its current state...

Would the "old you" have been more agreeable to an in-game auction screen/tab that allowed buyout bids and "hands free" item/currency exchanges IF:

1) There was a significant limit to the number of items any account could list or sell or even buy over a set period of time? Let's say 10 items a week, currency trading not included?

2) Would you have been more open to such a tab/app in-game if it had significantly less customizable search features BUT the player could also still use the current system as well? (Which is how it is on console, with both a lightweight in-game AH present as well as the player being able to use the standard PoE1 trading mechanics.)

IOW - Far from being something that could break the game, severe limits placed upon it so it could serve ALL players and their choice of trade-play could make it more acceptable for those who may worry it would be too powerful.

Ideas? Opinions from the "old you?" :)
I too would like to see both of the POE's get an AH.

I like how 'City of Heroes' does it with the bid system. WOW or other styles would work too.

I know some like to mention the D3 dumpster fire of an AH, really though that crashed and burned due to RMT being included at the official level. IMhO never a good idea.

I still have an obscene (well for me anyways) amount of gold in D3 I bought, legally and official for like $20.00 US.
