Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt Launch - Live Updates 🔴

After calming myself down not log-in for a day I give 0.2 a try and I have to admit I want to keep loving the game but GGG you make it difficult to do so, I never play POE1 I start with POE2 and for the first time in many years I love it I love it so much that I spend almost a $1000 on supporter pack, I recommend the game to two of my good friends, I talk about it at work everyday, I love my Monk attribute stacking doing so much damage having fun on my time until 0.2 landed, I am disappointed, angry and feel like I got robbed. Before 0.2 it is the most fun game I have played since Elden Ring and now it’s just absolutely terrible. My friends and I stop playing Diablo 4 because they keep nerfing stuffs until we can’t do anything anymore and now POE2 is doing the same thing. I love POE2 before patch I can’t justify to pay anything to this game anymore.

I'm doing progress, suffering a lot and putting in a lot of hours... and I love the new content added. The entire league is spectacular, as they explain the endgame so well, the new monsters and mechanics amazing. The only BIG problem is the balance. But congratulations to those who created the art, design, and content of the endgame. I hope this pointless Ruthless mode will fixed soon.
Don't mind balance, it's still ea, and personally much easier than 0.1 start...but technical issues of the chart...like for 2 years before settlers 2.0 no issues for me on the start. But after november constantly. Settlers 2.0 - crashes, PoE2 ea launch issue with accounts that wasn't tested. Settlers 3.0 crashes. PoE2 2.0 start more than 50 crashes in first act. Today after rare mobs minions hotfix constant rollback.Its so fun when you have 2-3 hours to play manage to make 1 zone on second character. Clearing hunting grounds for 5 times.
Balance can be fixed. Wasted time - no. Why should i even play the game and support it if constantly against it.
I’ve played this game for over 1,000 hours. It’s been one of my favorite ways to unwind and just enjoy myself. I was genuinely having a great time right up until Dawn of the Hunt.

Since that patch, everything feels off. The gameplay that used to excite me now feels frustrating and punishing. I’m in maps at level 72, but getting constantly stunned and killed has turned what was once engaging into something that feels unfair and exhausting. Cold effects slow you down so much that you can’t roll away or escape death zones. There’s no counter play, no way out. You just die.

I know GGG is aiming for what they call meaningful combat, but right now it doesn’t feel meaningful. It feels like a chore.

It honestly hurts to say this, because I’ve put so much time and love into this game. But when the fun disappears, so does my desire to keep playing and to keep supporting it financially. In just a short time I’ve already spent over 450 dollars on stash tabs and other in game purchases. I’ve been through this before with Diablo 4. I stopped playing right after the first patch. I never thought I’d feel that same kind of disappointment here.

On top of all that, I’m still dealing with constant lag spikes that never seem to get addressed. The blame always falls on drivers, but I never had these issues until something changed in the March update.

I really did enjoy playing. But right now, it feels like it’s slipping away from me.

I will preface this by stating the game as a whole is not ‘trash’ and that the developers are inept or incompetent – in fact, as a work in progress the game was alright for its early release.
In a show of serendipity, an update post was made after I posted, and it seems like the devs are more out of touch with their own game than I thought.

For this 0.2 update, there are many fears and upsets – my greatest hope is that this large hammer of nerfs is a gigantic overcorrection to the data that was gathered since the start, and from there appropriate balancing can be applied. This might be copium, but I cannot rationalize another explanation as to why the game is in its current state without consideration of future tuning.

If this is indeed the case, then I feel the largest mistake in this entire process is not scaling the mobs to match the intended playstyle for players. It has been established that the goal is to slow the game down, let things cook for a bit and have a ‘Souls-like’ approach to combat. This is interesting and, in theory, a new and fun way to differentiate PoE 2 from its predecessor – however, this only works if mob and enemy design is in lockstep with this vision.

It is evident this is not the case currently, and this design philosophy is only being applied to how the player can interact with the game rather than the game as a whole. Right now, to keep the Souls analogy, the design feels as if players are handed a Demon’s Souls character while expected to fight groups of mobs ripped straight from Sekiro – this dissonance between enemy tuning and player experience is what is causing the main problems in the game. In words of the Simpsons: “So, you want a realistic, down to earth show, that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots?” - sorry devs, but this isn’t working out until a lane is chosen. Do you want an ARPG that is dynamic and fast paced, or a slower methodical Souls-Like? You can’t have both.

In sum, I have uninstalled the game yet again and will wait until a decision with how the game is intended to be played is chosen. This huge player nerf with little to no balancing towards how players actually interact with enemies does not instill any immediate confidence, and I hope a resolution is made soon.
