GGG, what on earth were you thinking???

OK, TLDR: I came here because D4 was a huge disappointment, played the first pre-release through the latest patch, really enjoyed it until patch 2.0. Now I don't.

Let's start at the top.

<RANT MODE - ON>

1. You messed with my old build, and now parts of my old Standard Realm build components are MISSING. Diamonds, gear, etc. What did you do and why did you do it?

2. You deleted most of my Standard Realm passive tree (where my diamonds were) - why would you EVER touch a player's build? Naughty, naughty, devs. Don't EVER touch our "paid for with time, money, and blood" stuff. And BTW, because I paid for goods and contributed to the release (well over US$100), technically my stuff is MY stuff. Keep your d---skinners out of my stuff.

3. New build = nerfed to H--- and new character class is no-damage lameness. Might as well call you Blizzard II and be done with it. You royally narfed the game up, guys and gals.

4. Actually, where the old game was a true "grind until you wear your mouse out" game, now it's just "grind and die until you put your fist through the monitor" to the tenth power. Again, what were you thinking with this patch? No damage, super nerfs, skills are now terrible. OH - Lich class - saw someone playing it, I didn't personally. Evidently, GGG does not know what a lich is. In summary, you need a character with a LOT of strength and power and are almost impossible to kill. Remember the Nazgûl in the Tolkein books? That's a lich. Not a necromancer, doesn't raise the dead,an undead sorcerer and should be added to the sorceress branch.

5. In making the patch, did you insert a bunch of decimal points into the damage and crit tables? Sure looks like it.

In summary - this experience with GGG is terrible in my opinion. You had a convert here, and now I will rebuild my tree on my Standard Realm character, grind until lvl 99, and then I'm out. Out as in gone, not coming back, you can keep my money, I'm gone in the same manner as I'm gone from D4. Don't want to hear from anyone about it.

For other players out there enjoying this fiasco, by all means, enjoy it. My comments reflect my experience only and might not reflect your own experience.

Wanted to update to the community, my stuff is back... strange, that.

Also, now the passive tree is missing the jewel slot at top center? Ummm... WHY???

I don't want to curse here, kids might read this, but if the devs in the fireside chat video were here or on the phone or in discord, I would tell them very directly what I think of their smug attitude regarding their new patch and how they in fact ruined this experience.

GGG, how many gamers do you think you lost forever in this patch? Judging by comments and YT vids, seems like thousands. Blizzard did similar and it basically almost ended them. Same path here, devs.

If you think I was angry before, GGG, now I'm downright pissed off to the max. You want hate, you got it.

I'm happily going back to DCS where I can fly F-16's and A-10's like I used to IRL. Something I enjoy. I am not coming back to this grinding, no damage, buggy, slog that takes hundreds of hours to get anywhere; and the stupid Olympic sized boss fights, uniques that don't do much, crafting that is a crapshoot, , etc. Just... HELL NO.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how you think it's fine to screw people out of real money for your own butthurt lack of vision.

Lemme just toss this out here for ya, champ.

If I knew that my character would be DELETED at the end of a season, then I never would have started it in the first place.

Generally, in any ARPG you either are warned about this up front or you are relegated to a "base world" where you can continue to play the same character. It might bore you to death but it's "player's choice", not "dev choice".

AND, the language used during the "fireside chat" NEVER mentioned that "yeah, you can keep your character but it won't work".

I'm already over it, so go "LMAO even" yourself. I think you're smart enough to pick up what I'm putting down there.

Welcome to Path of Exile. You may note that the game is in early access and subject to change. Obvious early access issues aside, if you did any research at all on the previous game you would note that it always will be subject to change even after the launch and this will happen a lot more going forward.

If you stick to this strategy and I need 4 weeks to get to the endgame - then I'll look for other games.

that is 100% a you problem. I was playing for ~6 hours yesterday and am halfway through act 3, playing blind on a ED+contagion lich. The game is NOT any harder that last patch, at least not during the campaign.
