It isn't hard - It's Tedious
I've finished A1-3 now on 2 classes, a ranger and smith.
I'll take them both through A4-6 next then onto mapping if I can bare to continue this monotonous campaign. As the title says nothing about it is hard, even on a clunky smith but the campaign is extremely boring and made worse with bullet sponge act bosses and slow gameplay. This level of challenge design and playstyle suits the end game, but you are burning out new players to POE2 as well as those who enjoyed 0.1 and are trying to come back. The experience has simply become tedious, the early game loot is uninspired and since the only gameplay option available is to keep grinding the campaign with no side content at all it's become harder and harder to log in to keep bothering to do it. No hate here towards those that enjoy this, like I say I want the game to be far more difficult overall, but the way they are approaching it isn't making it hard, it's making it unenjoyable to do. I am enjoying it. It reminds me of the early days of Diablo 2. The first runthrough without twink gear will always be a bit slow, then with experience and twinking the next iterations will be faster and faster.
Sure, there are still some kinks and tweaks that could be done, but this is still just early access and still better than most fully released games I've tried in recent years. |

Curious - what do you think is actually making it tedious? You have said it yourself, the game isn't hard. So what would make it less tedious? If it's mobs dying faster, without just dismissing you, why not just spec into more damage, and forego defence on gear for more damage? If the game isn't hard, then that should fix it for you right there. Plenty of skills 1-2 shot all white mobs in early campaign, so why not just run one of those?

" I dont know what I'm more perplexed by: the patch notes or the fact that no moderator has banned/filtered your pretentious, agitating, and condescending responses that you've produced on these forums.... for years. |

" That post of his has nothing condescendent.. it is spot on and just made a valid question to you. A person is NOT bad just because he/she disagrees with you. |

" I think the "controlled" loot and gold gain keeps the difficulty at a great level for experienced players, but... There should be more quest rewards to accelerate builds/versatility. Boots with 10% movement speed with various defensive options that you can choose (1 out of 3 or something) would be a nice reward for completing one of the side bosses in Act 1. Move speed is so important for basic survivability and satisfaction. There's a good few quest rewards with options I would add to allow the player to not only feel more comfortable with their play but make it so that they feel like they're in control which I feel is an important factor to remember. Also I see it as GGG's fault for "Item Rarity" stat, I think this area can be improved/reworked and made more apparent to players that this is an important stat for progression well being. |
