poe 2 machinarium soft locked

hello im on the new dawn of the hunt league and in the machinarium on act 3 i have picked up the 1st small soul core to advance but however it will not let me place the soul core in the stone thingy anyone got any advice on a work around to skip this quest or anythimg to fix it?
