Here's why I quit.
For what it's worth.... some customer feedback for the ggg people
The campaign is death after death, disconnect after disconnect. It's not fun. I did not enjoy the campaign the first time I played on the first server. it felt like a chore I had to do to get to maps. it was fun for awhile, but after you die so many times playing the same content that you already trudged.. it's not something I ever wanted to do again, however we are forced to play the same game over and over again. I mean... even the first time you play, it's like ggg ran out of ideas so they just called a copy of something you already played act3. Now, starting a new server fresh over you have to go through ALL of those acts again and again before you get to maps. it sucks. The game is decent the first time around, but I don't think it was meant to be played more than once except my hardcore fans. Playing the first server is pointless because it's a ghost town now. I imagine the same will happen to every server after they start a new season... where you get to play the same content over and over again. Can ggg see how this is going to turn away many many players who are not hardcore fans? I just feel the game is missing that part of ongoing community that would keep more players playing for a year or more rather than a season and a half before they have had enough of the same thing over and over again. There's no progression because the seasons start over again. Not fun for casual players at all. Last bumped9 апр. 2025 г., 07:20:19

It's funny cause they solved this issue in poe1. The campaign is a process to level your character, whether it's new for the league or you want to try a different build. You go through the campaign, it can feel like a chore but you have a clear sense of power progression. I've done the poe1 campaign more than 100 times and I could do it more without question.
But the poe2 campaign, I have not even finished once. It's incredibly boring, you do little damage, mobs have huge life pools and you just run around pushing abilities for hours not ever feeling powerful. Making sure you're equipped with gear, the right abilities with the right passive tree is crucial for success in the campaign. Thus requires significant effort to have a smooth experience. Then they release 0.2 and it's now harder, requiring even more effort, taking even more time. Game is not meant to me, so I don't play it. Just understand and appreciation how this game can make you feel. |

I feel the repetitiveness you are talking about. Sure we have to play 3 acts twice, but act 3 actually feels like you are playing the same thing twice within the act. Time travel shouldn't mean you get to reskin the same massive zones. And for EA that means running it 4x to reach maps.

I enjoy the experience the first couple of time. In the long run, if they're to do resets every 3 months or so people who have already played the game should be able to pass through the campaign faster in some way.

I think the devs are building a game THEY love and not necessarily a game for the broader market. After watching the first 30mins of their recent dev interview, you can see how pissy the devs become when the customer base wants things they don't personally enjoy.
If I were an investor in GGG I'd probably suggest to the main dev guy that he's bloody brilliant when it comes to games, but he's just not capable of seeing things from the market's perspective... and for me that would be reason to replace him with someone who's personal emotions are more in line with the potential audience. This guy is REALLY good, but just not a match. Ultimately, he's affecting revenue and retention at he highest level. He sums it up perfectly when he says the game should be fun, but he's blowing it time and time again. he just doesn't relate to the audience he's been put in charge of. It's simply the wrong job role for him right now, at least with this game. This game might only reach half it's potential with this guy at the helm. |

" I found PoE1 way too easy and of course fresh players like myself who start on there are very much incentivized to follow a guide or feel forever lost or perhaps spend a 1000hrs on their own journey of self discovery (or worse, many failures of build path and gearing). My first POE2 playthrough I didn't need to follow anything and had a blast, I only found myself truly scratching my head when it come to End Game progression and struggling to do T5+ maps "Ah, I need more energy shield/defense, use these spirit skills to my advantage...ah that's better, oh and add a necklace passive skill". If you couldn't even finish the campaign once in POE2 and felt like your character wasn't progressing in any kind of fun way for you, what does that say exactly? You say POE2 is a significant effort to be "smooth" and all I can point to is someone like yourself definitely needs a meta build guide and additionally only 3 buttons and most for most gameplay needs because that's the only experience I felt from POE1 is to just run around and only push a few buttons... I guess as an mmorpg and long time LoL player I'm used to at the very least 6 skills and a few item actives, am I used to living in the rough lands or something? I even want more skill slots on POE2 (I wear the +skill rings happily) and try to use weapon swapping to good effect...isn't that cool gameplay or its just not is it? Maybe 0.2+ (0.3)
Or 1.0. (To OP) "PoE1 Clone Has No Future!" ;) | EA 0.2 | Trade is EZ mode. ;) | Path of Trading ;) | "TLDR: -1 Devs ohhh" (Lol.) | "I've played a lot of videogames. " The POE2 campaign feels like they want you to take 20h for it. All done for the metrics. |
