This is spot on - THIS is a GOOD kind of oppressive action, because it allows the player to counter-attack effectively to overcome the threat. If the enemies swarming your ass take more than a hit or two, generally, it gives them time to start doing their thing, stun-locking, and generally making it impossible to combo. But if they can be dispatched quickly, they are still dangerous, but only if not reacted to. Very tight danger/counter loop.

I think this philosophy could be applied in other areas throughout the game to make this combat feel better, too, but this is a great start.

Not enough.

You also forgot currency drops in campaign.
do these changes apply to those monster types in maps? because the problem doesnt magically disappear in maps.
Where rune affinity?
Still no loot in this boring AF game.

Are those "100 new uniques" in the room with us right now?
Spectre's wisp form needs a rework asap guys...
