Is there a new dev interview about upcoming plans? any light at the end of the tunnel given new updates for torchlight and last epoch within 24 hours? What incentive is there for "diverse" gameplay when you have to treat the game like a 2nd job to do anything.

Absolutely zero percent chance Last Epoch "kills POE" considering with a MASSIVE update, they've been maybe 20k up on POE2? While POE2 added a new character and weapon with skills, but not much else and is STILL that close? LE is a fantastic game and will continue to make time for it going forward... but POE2 isn't getting killed by LE Lol.

This is also why I tell people to ignore recent reviews and to take these forums with a grain of salt... too much overreacting and entitlement from the community.

Streamers just do what is popular and now it's hating PoE 2 and praising LE. It's kinda pathetic but I understand the need viewers.

Did you understood that I was inquiring that it got changed ? They wanted though, Jonathan said that himself, but they ended up with the same heavily upgraded one that opens up new development windows.

I see, sorry I misunderstood then. I never heard them saying that they wanted to make a new engine for PoE2. All I remember was they intended to rework it, but it's been 6 years or something like that, so who knows if I remember correctly.

Swapping engines is obviously not an easy task for any game. The next question would be, which engine is better for an ARPG than Unity? I don't think EHG has the time and ressources to build a new engine from scratch like GGG did.
People need years to port their games from UE4 to UE5 and that's easy in comparison to porting to a completely new engine.


In terms of combat, after playing alot yesterday, I think EHG should overhaul alot of sound effects. The sound of the characters, but also of enemies attacks and spells is not very good. That impacts feel of combat in a huge way.

LE is going to kill POE2 as much as POE2 is going to kill D4...

Just a reminder... believe it or not, these two games can exist at the same time. I know it's shocking, but none of these games are killing anything.

These games are seasonal, they will have player count spikes for updates. The retention depends on if the update is hit or miss. (POE1 for example has had PLENTY of shitty patches, yet it always got better)

Not POE2, D4 or Last Epoch beat their peak numbers. POE2 had bigger launch than LE, it was more anticipated and unlike LE it has not been played before (Because LE has been looong time in EA).

Yet guess what, LE is still here after POE2 launch (LE had 2k players). It did not die, nor will POE2 when they fucked up.

Sometimes, things are less interesting than you think...

Games don’t need to destroy other games. It’s a very juvenile argument whereby someone puts their subjective opinion forth that they prefer one game over another and assume that the mass market agrees with them, especially on forums! It’s completely acceptable to play more than 1 game at once and thus both games can be played by most players or they attract different audiences.

Just because a “Game 1” player doesn’t like “Game 2” doesn’t mean “Game 2” is bad, nor does it mean other gamers have the same view.

Nope, they wont be crawling back before 0.3.0. They will play some variety games. Steam numbers for POE 2 dropped allready hard 48 hours before LE launch.

It is not about LE. 0.2.0 is just a bad patch.
