GGG I beg you, please do not make the game easier.
There is a unvocal majority loving the current pacing speed and difficulty of the game. This includes the level of loot we are getting and the TTK of monsters etc. Please do not turn this into another brainless cookie clicker loot simulator like PoE1. We literally still have PoE1 when we want that gameplay we can log into it right now. This is your opportunity do something revolutionary and different from the norm.

I think the game should be easier during the plot and harder in the later stages, so that everyone can feel more comfortable upgrading their equipment. It's a pity that GGG switched it around.

I'd contend that the campaign should be balanced around SSF + HC league thus making initial gear acquisition and progression smoother
.... I do think that through maps there should be a transition though where everything gets balanced SC + Trade and making the endgame challenging for SC + Trade players EDIT: Maybe there should be enough base power in skills & the passive tree that even "bad" gearing will get you through the campaign. As soon as you hit maps though getting GEAR taken care of should likely be the focus and make it required to get PREMIUM gear before you can tackle endgame??? Many players have already given up on this patch. Those remaining are playing Amazon LS, clearing screen faster than Archmage 0.1

Whether the unvocal happy subset of the playerbase is the majority or minority is a lesser detail. What matters is, "is that subset big enough to financially support continuous development of PoE 2 after launch?" Especially when PoE 1 starts rolling out leagues regularly again.
0.2 was slower than expected to get out and was still undercooked. That's normal in corporate software development. There's no way you can dish out minor patches fast enough to change player impressions of a major patch. Not when you're working office hours and have to corrdinate many moving parts (and make sure nothing introduces a crash). Players will walk away and development can happen in peace until the next major patch is ready. Just like what happens with every other PoE 1 league. Just like what is happening now with Last Epoch. |

" I disagree. I think fresh start campaign should be tough (and rewarding which for me it is). Currently, the game gets easier. For example, act n+3 is much easier than act n. I think in the end game we should have the choice of whether to make the game hard or easy. One of the problems in the middle of the campaign and in end game is that the ratio of white,blue,yellow mob hp to boss hp is too fat skewed: the threats in this game are white/blue packs...and they have too much hp. Meanwhile the bosses all melt in comparison later in the game. Next, I think players in the late game should be able to customize their gameplay (choosing easier mobs but tougher bosses or making the game easier/faster by choosing lower map mods, but not getting as much reward, etc). -------------- +100 to the OP |
