Add the caveat that they cannot use the same build, class OR weapon more than once.
Ideally they'd each pick something they're unfamiliar with, but probably best to be sure. |

The developers absolutely play their own game, that's not the problem. The problem is that, when playing, game developers (in general) tend to pay more attention to how the systems are working. They're looking for bugs, unintended interactions, and making sure things seem to be going smoothly. They also know what's expected of them without having to learn the way a player would.
The question "Is this fun and engaging?" isn't typically focused on as much as it should be. It doesn't help that they're playing it for work. Plus a whole load of other cognitive biases tend to be at play. That developers tend to play their own game differently is why bringing in random people for playtesting can provide valuable insight. |
